Expensive, but worth it.
Connects easily and reliably, feels great, definitely a quality item. The triggers are a bit lighter than the original but are very precise, and you also get shoulder buttons in addition to the triggers. This was very nice while playing Playstation games on Bleemcast. The problem is connecting VMUs while using it. The wireless receiver is a dongle that connects one, but only one, and it doesn't work with the 4x cards, so ultimately you have to plug in a regular corded controller just to connect two more memory cards and sort of just tuck it out of the way. That part is less than ideal. I'm still going to give the five stars though, on the basis that there's a very simple workaround, and it won't affect everyone. Would be nice though if they made a receiver that accepted two VMUs, or it just worked with the 4x ones.

Finally, Dreamcast Wireless!
This controller is a great wireless option for the Dreamcast Wireless. When I held the controller it has a great weight to it and sturdy in the hands, feels very well built. Buttons have a nice click, analog sticks feel smooth (Hall effects!) and d-pad feels great. This feels much better than their wired controller. I did have an issue originally trying to charge it, I was told by their support that you have to use the included Retro Fighters USB-C cable. Once I used it, it charges just fine. Also to note it is 100% compatible with original VMU's they are adding firmware support (I am told) for VM2 and 4X Memory and 3rd party memory options. In the meantime I'd recommend using original VMUs, those work fine until a firmware update. Again, a great controller, has nice rumble and the triggers feel great, right amount of sensitivity. If you are a Dreamcast fan, I highly recommend you get this gamepad!

A must own for dreamcast enthusiasts.
I have nothing bad to say about this controller. It feels really good in the hand. All of the controls have a good positive feel. I especially enjoyed the click of the buttons. It has a turbo button and two additional bumpers on the top, which is nice. Nothing about the controller feels cheap. It comes with a receiver/vmu port that you plug into the console. I don't mind that the vmu port is attached to the receiver. Some people will wish that it was attached to the controller itself. I understand that some games use the vmu for additional gameplay immersion, but that wasn't something I ever utilized personally. Connectivity was quick and easy and I had no problems. If there is any lag, it is virtually imperceivable. I only bought one, but intend on buying at least one more now.

Dead on arrival
*EDIT, REVISED REVIEW* First one was a dud, went through the hassle free amazon.com return process to get a new one on hand that has been working flawlessly. What's Good? - Shape: Controller is shaped like a modern pad and feels great in the hands, buttons are easy to access and the general layout just feels right with medium to large hands. Really appreciate the smooth plastic used, feels more in line with OEM Dreamcast controllers this way even though we are abandoning the sharp edges of the original for a more rounded modern look and feel. The Look: Controller fits the theme of the Dreamcast really well, button colors are correct, and I appreciated small touches like the triangular start button. Responsiveness: This controllers' buttons are responsive, there is minimal to no lag (playing on a Trinitron CRT) and I am able to pull off everything from level skip speed runs in sonic adventure to combos in MVC2. It's also important to note that the joystick on this controller is a huge improvement over the original and unlike most other wireless/Bluetooth options this joystick hits the FULL range of the OEM stick - and yes, it's still hall-effect. What's Bad? - The D-Pad: This thing SHREDS my thumb in fighting games, it is straight up bad for people who like to roll their thumb on the pad for combos and the like, it would be fine for side scrollers and maybe shmups but specifically for fighters it stinks. The VMU: Having it so close to the console and no longer really a part of your controller takes away from the identity of the console quite a bit, the VMU is after all a very memorable feature of the Dreamcast, and I would have liked to see it integrated into the controller itself instead of a dongle. The Triggers: They are just "ok", the pad offers analogue triggers that can hit the full range of the OEM however they are much mushier and offer none of that resistance the original has - it's worth noting that the triggers are mirrored to the shoulder buttons as well in case you want more of an instant button press. Conclusion: I think Retro Fighters really is offering the best wireless controller on the market for the Dreamcast right now, but I still think there are ways this could be improved upon. For starters, I want to see the VMU integrated back into the design of the controller, I understand wireless VMU presents its own obstacles, but it can be done. Second, the analogue stick on this thing really needed an anti-friction ring, my stick has already started showing signs of wear from rubbing plastic on plastic, it would add a premium feel to the device that is sorely lacking. Third, I would like to see them adjust the tension on the analogue triggers, they aren't anywhere close to the feel of the originals, and I think something with more resistance would truly elevate this thing. Lastly, the D-Pad needs a rework - as I type this, I imagine a version of this controller with the Saturn D-Pad and what an improvement that would be.

An excellent daily driver [Updated] - But does not pair easy, does not work w/ 4x Sega memory card
Update - This is an excellent controller. I harshed on it too soon b/c of the day one pairing issues. Aside from that, this controller is perfect! Got the pairing to work: HOLD the triangle button on the dongle for more than a sec, don't just tap it event though it flashes regardless. Also, does not read 4X memory cards. I guess it only works w/ VMUs, should make that apparent on the package. Previous review... Gave it 2 stars b/c it at least looks nice and packaging was nice too. I followed the firmware instructions to update the pairing issue. Pluggd to Windows 11 PC. Does not find the controller in the device drop-down, does not download the update to the device. I own a RetroFighters GC controller and it's really great but this experience has me frustrated.

Works great! The VMU dongle fits neatly next to the console in such a way that you can take out the VMU easily. It could probably get messy with 4, but with one it’s perfect. The controller feels better than the original Dreamcast controller, particularly the thumb stick. There’s 4 shoulder buttons instead of the original 2 and their functions seem to be redundant (at least for Sonic Adventure where they are mapped to the camera). The only downside is the price. I find it expensive at least for now.

Top Qualität , liegt gut in der Hand und hat die Qualität wie der Nintendo switch pro Controller. Einfach zu handhaben und funktioniert sehr gut. Kein Drift und Tasten reagieren extrem gut. Habe schwarz und weiß
