Good quality ceramic, thoughtful design, I
Arrived very well packed, padded, in great condition. With the lid in, the incense sticks may be inserted into the decorative vents and can be burned standing at a slant. With the lid off, they may be placed flat onto the metal mesh inset, covered or not by the lid to prevent ash mess if disturbed. The incense provided is fine, in extra thin sticks with scent not labeled in any other language (so mystery fragrances). It remains to be seen if thicker sticks will work well. Cones may be used atop the metal inner plate, as well. Quality construction and materials used. Love it. Overall, pleased with this purchase.

This is beautiful! And high-quality!
I am super impressed by this intense burner. I’ve had every incense burner under the sun previously. This one is beautiful, solidly built, and extremely functional. It does exactly what I could hope for in regards to an incense burner. I also like that it has a lid because that protects the incense from any curious cats.I love the way that the lid allows the smoke to loft out of there so it emits the perfect amount of incense!Plus, it’s beautiful! I got the dark brown one.

better quality than expected
The media could not be loaded. i was unsure of the quality when ordering this but honestly once i got it, there is weight to it and it feels made of heavy material. its ceramic/metal i think. i use the satya nag champa incense sticks and it fits perfectly on the metal rack inside. burns great and mine did not burn out or anything. the soot does collect on the lid but thats expected so i did go with the darker color because i knew that would happen. only thing i would love to see in a future model of this is an incense holder drawer. i recommend, its good value for the price. keeps the ashes hidden away in an aesthetic design. havent tried the tools or incense that came with but its a nice bonus!

Very happy with this purchase
A very nice incense burner. Nice to have a simple design that is not made of wood. We had tried some of the basic wooden coffin incense holders that have storage. We had one from Walmart that lasted us for several years. But every one of those types we ordered from Amazon came damaged. So this was a pleasant surprise to be ceramic and a lovely design. It had a nice heft to it and the incense tubes were elegant and nice to contain incense as a starter. The brush and tweezers are also nice additions. The price was most reasonable, especially considering that some of those cheap wooden coffin ones I mentioned were just a few dollars cheaper. The only cons I have are that its size does not accommodate the stick incense we usually get. You have to cut the wooden part of the incense that normally sticks in the hole to hold it. Those sticks are also a little thicker than the ones that come with this, so they rise at a higher angle, so you cannot close the lid. THAT IS A MINOR ISSUE. The sticks still work, and the ash falls into the holder still. It might have been nice to have a storage chamber beneath to hold incense. But again this is not an issue, just something to consider.|Over all the quality is excellent. The price is reasonable. The design is elegant. The ease of cleaning is convenient.

Besides being gorgeous to look at, it performs its functions to a tee!
This Japanese Incense Holder is so beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice! I'm quite happy to have foun it and it is a perfect complement to my new fondness of Japanese high end Incense sticks, including the kyara wood based ones. It holds the sticks in place very well and the box retains all the ashes. It arrived impressively well-packed, after all it is ceramic and it is Japanese made (they are known to never cut corners!). And I'm quite happy with the absolutely lovely incense it came with, and will purchase again from the CEREMONY Store. Did I mention how beautiful this incense holder is!? :o)

Very pretty, functional, but shorter than normal sticks
I really like the look of this incense holder, it's simple and elegant. It's just very short, shorter than the normal length sticks I have. I ended up removing the original holder and gluing in a raised alligator clip that holds the sticks better and allows a little bit more length. I still have to break a good chunk of the end off my sticks but at least I have a solid & sturdy way to hold them now.
