Does not help at all for stabilization. I am using Sony A6700 with IBIS, but lost many nice footages because of too much jittery issues. Even Davinci Resolve could not fix the final footages. This handheld grip cannot absorb micro-shakes even if you take full precautions to balance ur movements. It is a good use case only for static shots.

I purchased this to take a chance on using it with my Sony 200-600mm lens as it’s quite heavy. I was glad it took the chance. As my lens is quite heavy, I struggle to hold it steadily, while being able to operate the touch screen on my camera (Sony A6600). So mounting the lens onto this grip is quite helpful. So not just for mounting DSLR bodies, works with telephoto lenses too.
