This in my opinion is the perfect travel mate. Especially if your laptop does not have many ports, as some of the newer devices have fewer ports. The screen showing what is plug in and working is an added bonus, for any techie person.

DTo get it out of the way, I. had a 7 in one Dockcase that overheated and wiped one of my micro sd card. the sad part about it is I had it for two years and it always got that hot. I had no hope in the docks but I had an emergency and this one had good reviews. It said that this one never gets that hot. I ordered one and I am happy to say it indeed stays relatively warm. I did plug in an older lightning cable and it started to short circuit the GoPro 13 I had plugged into it. I don't know why the dock case started to reset itself the minute these two things were plugged in together. It runs pretty good otherwise. Though the whole experience®hence makes me nervous about purchasing again. It's light weight. My other Dockcase was heavy for a 7 in 1. The upload speeds are a loiitt le quicker when going form ssd drive to micro sd. It took less time when paired with my Samsung laptop. I can't belie√' how cool this thing stays. It stays cooler than my anker 7-1 usb hub. The Anker is also heavier and had the same dangerous reputation of erasing cards and short. circuiting computers. I'm glad I don't have to use that one either. One star off for that little malfunction in the beginning.

proscustomer service is quick to respond.device is sleek looking.lots of ports.constwo defective units is a row. idk if this is someone at amazon just shipping out returned defective devices. or the quality control at dockcase is just gone down hill. two defective devices in a rowis too much of a coincidence. especially for the price of these hubs and docks. no excuse that these shouldn't be 100% quality controlled and 100% compatible with all devices in terms of microsd card and usb support. I don't expect hdmi or desplay port to be 100%% as alot of manufacturers like to do things differently on some tv's, monitors, and handheld devices. but usb and microsd are a industry standard protocol. Electrically both these devices were defects. you shouldn't need to power the hub to use the microsd card slots. 1st device they didn't even show up. 2nd device wouldn't show the microsdunless I plugged a pd device into the "computer connection port" and the data cable going to the computer into what is supposed to be the pd port. and even then the microsd did not show up in windows or on and of my devices. I think someone soldered in a chip or some diodes wrong at the factory. as the pd port and to device ports are clearly labeled in the manual. I have a dockcase 9in1 and all my usb, microsd, and other devices work just fine with that one. and they all show up in windows. idk what is going on at dockcase but when this 9in1 dies I won't be buying from them again. not a great way to keep customers.

Here is the result I got from applying the latest firmware upgrade. A mirror image both in terms of background and text! Just made the device useless. Even using the tool to reset to default did nothing. Very disappointed!It would also be helpful to have an actual support page with a downloadable manual in PDF format. The included manual is ridiculously rendered in a very small font. It would be extremely important to have this document detail all the options and choices in the configuration panel!Also, how does one personalize the welcome page? Not a word about this anywhere.Why not have an earlier firmware version to recover from the current disaster!Love the product concept but boy, the manual needs complete rework and the firmware upgrade seems to be a real problem.UPDATE: 2023-FEB-14I am pleased to report that Ms. Katy Ma from DockCase and I exchanged multiple emails. She provided the current firmware needed to restore my unit and it worked.She further advised me of the need for the host USB C port to support the DockCase. There are three factors that are needed: USB protocol, PD protocol and DP Alt Mode. The latter two were unknown to me and evidently the ASUS mother board that I have in one of my PCs does not support the latter two standards and that is why I was getting error messages. Fascinating!She also took care to listen to my critiques of the unit including the need for an updated instruction manual and replacing the USB 2.0 A ports with either USB 3.x A ports or better yet USB 3.x C ports.My warning to not do the firmware update from their website still applies! That firmware is for units sold before 2022. All units sold through Amazon have the latest firmware installed.Time will tell but at this point I will change my rating to 4 starts and express appreciation to Ms. Ma for her replies.
