Great for beginners and long time users
Up until a few months ago, I had never had any experience with an Electronic Collar(E-collar). I started looking into training for my puppy Australian Cattle dog, and found Dogtra‘s training equipment and have not looked back! I started out with the Tom Davis 280c Edition and loved every part of the experience with my Cattle dog. Then I realized I wanted to have as much positive training with my dachshund, and was looking for an E-collar that would fit comfortably on his small neck and not weigh too much or have contact points that could irritate his short hair/skin. That’s when Dogtra came out with the Cue and they were kind enough to send me a unit to test out and review and it has been a dream! The collar/receiver itself can fit either horizontal or vertical on any dog, which makes it so much more comfortable with dogs with smaller necks. It has plastic contact points, so no irritation for dogs with short hair and/or those dogs with a little more sensitive skin. It is also chargeable via USB-C which is extremely handy if you should ever lose the charger, it’s very easy to find another USB-C cable to replace it. The remote itself feels very comfortable in the hand and for those who have none to very little experience with an E-collar remote, it’s very straight forward to use. One button on the front for easy/quick access. You can lock in the level you’re training at so there’s no accidental bump or increase in levels like I’ve seen on other remote systems. You can also pair up to three dogs to one remote and quickly switch between each receiver just from a touch of a button on the back. So it has been very hassle free having both my dogs paired to one remote now. It has the option of a pager, which is just a vibration for a quick correction. While also having a nick and continuation option with 24 levels for stimulation for training and recall. There is also the capability of a customizable boost setting for those emergency situations where you need to quickly increase your dogs stimulation level but don’t have the time to check the receiver to see what the level is at. You can save the boost for a certain level you know the dog will acknowledge in a high stress situation, and it’s just one touch of the button after it’s been set. The carabiner clip gives me an immediate grab of the remote so I can have it clipped on my belt loop, attached to a backpack, or anywhere else for easy access. Both the receiver and remote are also waterproof for the dogs that love a quick swim, so there’s no worry about ruining the device. It also has a range of up to 400 yards so my dogs can go some distance ahead of me while also putting my mind at ease that they’ll still feel the stimulation for recall to come back. I love everything about this unit and would recommend it to anyone starting out in the E-collar world as well as to long time users. Thank you Dogtra for making a unit that both my big and small dog can use at the same time.

Great beginner e-collar
I am a regular user of the Dogtra 280-C e-collar, so I was curious to see the differences between the two collars. Pros: I really love the design of the remote. You can tell it was designed with user-friendliness in mind. The one-touch button on the front is great as well as the clear LED screen. Also, the carabiner is a cool feature to make it easy to carry. The Boost function is really nice because with a simple button, you can increase your stim level. I use it mostly for short training sessions or trail walks near my house when I know my dog won't go too far. Cons: I knew at the beginning that the stim level range was much smaller than the 280-C, but I find it difficult to get the right base number and even harder when trying to calculate the right boost. I don't want to use too much pressure, especially when my dog is used to a wider stim range. Also, the vibrate is much softer than the 280-C, which if someone is still figuring out an e-collar that could be a good thing. Overall, great beginner e-collar and good for use in limited settings because of the distance. However, if you're in a more urban setting, have a smaller dog or are new to e-collar this is a great model to start with.

Great effective e collar, excited to keep training.
Wow! Great, easy to use tool. 10 m.o. belgian sheepdog in service training, having trouble with distracted recalls, and other teenager behaviors🤣🤣 wish it came with a quick release collar option. This vibrate only collar is very effective, even through his thick mane, at low settings. Wish the red button was on the front so it doesnt accidentally get pressed when in hand, turning the remote to clip in palm solves this and is more comfortable.

Great product so far!
I've been using the Dogtra Cue e-collar for about a week so this is my preliminary review. I am not a dog trainer so there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to using the e-collar - I'm still getting used to when is the appropriate time to push the buttons! First off, the Cue e-collar is packaged nicely and has a proper and easy to read manual - by easy to read I mean, it's straightforward AND the font size is appropriate for my eyes which suddenly need glasses when reading small print. I have used the Patpet p-collar so I will make some comparisons. Dogtra doesn't require the silicone caps on the contact points, which is a huge plus since I have lost all of the caps including replacements I bought. I have a large dog so I have the receiver on the vertical orientation, but it's great to see that for much smaller dogs, there is a different way to set the receiver on the collar. I haven't seen this with other brands. Remote: I really like the carabiner functionality - it's much easier for me to have on hand and not drop when I am walking than the Patpet is. The buttons on the remote are intuitive once you learn where they are. To move between vibrate and other modes, you have to change the mode, which you don't have to do with the Patpet which has separate buttons. My dog is a 90# lab mix and I am using a base stimulation level of 6-7 for the nick stimulation mode. She can feel a 5, but there's no training response at that level. I'm still figuring out the boost mode and really like that I can set this for a bump up without having to change the stimulation level manually. I can see how in a pinch this will be really useful. I haven't used the continuous mode yet. The only thing I wish that the Cue had is an audible noise option instead of just vibrate and electrostatic stimulation. However, my dog is absolutely responding to the vibrate when I want her to come inside so perhaps I don't need the beep (which I was using for recall with my previous device). The unit is easy to charge, and you can see how much battery life is left on the remote, and apparently on the receiver as well (by way of the small LED light which will change colors). However, if not manually turned off, the battery will run down so that's an important thing to remember to do when it's not on your pup. Overall, I'm happy with this product and excited to get more comfortable with using it and seeing the results with my dog.

originally i enjoyed this collar for what it was, however, it is not an e -collar for a beginner, as the lack of modes means the stim threshold jumps rather high. originally though, i could feel it at a 4-5, but in less than 8 months the collar, without being exposed to any swimming (which it's advertised for) has degregraded so much that my dog's working level is no longer a 5, but a 8-14. i'm seeing others where the collar didn't work at all after a month.

It only vibrates no shock with it.

Totally stay away from this device . Not even close to what is described. This would surely kill your dog, I can't imagine the pain my dog went through because is this e collar. I was lucky to realize it in time as husky has a thick coat .
