I have a barbecue grill with the solid cast iron grates. I usually heat up the grill to about 500 degrees and then use the wire brush to clean them off. It works, but every now and then I want them really clean and for that I went looking for pumice.I remember from my restaurant days the grill cooks using stones to clean the grill at the end of the night. I must say, it works very well and quickly. The stone is very soft and wears quickly and will leave a dust that needs brushing off, but the grill is clean!Give these a try, you won't be disappointed. I really prefer these pumice stones to clean my grills rather than the steel wire brushes. These tend to make a little bit of a mess, but you don't have to worry about the wires. These stones are slightly smaller than the other brands that I've used before. They do what they're supposed to do though. I think the pumice that they use is softer than most because after a while, on more rounder grill surfaces, you will get big indentations in the block. I didn't have many issues on my flatter Weber, but I did on the Nexgrill that the band uses at the concession stand. It did a great job cleaning it, but it won't last too long. After I'm done scraping the grill with these, I always take a bunch of wet paper towels and wipe off the residue.

Used this to clean my ceramic grill grates and the picture is the left side after a very quick rub and the right side not cleaned yet. The stone gets the grill much cleaner than the wire brush! It’s nice that there are 2 stones in the package and they both have the convenient plastic clip on handles. Very happy with this product!

So there are three main problems I have with this product and one good thing.First, the good - This cleans the grates on my grill super well. I'm sure rubbing a "stone" on a painted/powder-coated grill grate means I'm scraping off the finish and will need to replace them more quickly, but maybe not.Now the bad -Right away, pulling it out of the package it leaves a sandy film on your hands and on your counter. Pumice stone apparently "sheds" a lot.Next, I used this to clean my grill and the softness of the stone really makes it erode quickly. I cleaned it one time and it's probably an eighth rubbed off. So, I should be able to get a good 8 uses out of one of the stones. Luckily, there's 2 of them in the package and I only clean my grill (thoroughly) like, maybe every other use or every 3rd use.Following the "shedding" and "erosion", I'm pretty sure no one in my family wants to eat pumice stone. After cleaning, there's a bunch of shedding on my grill. So, then I had to clean that off. Not a big deal, but my metal scraper thingy didn't leave an residue like this thing. I probably wouldn't buy these again and stick with a grill-specific sponge, cleaning them in the sink once a month or less often (that's a pain, I'm not doing every day, lady).

If you cook lots of sauce based foods on your griddle then this stone will make quick clean up afterwards. Cooked for a large event and used this to do a deep clean afterwords and it worked well.

I live in an area where even clean water can leave that ugly ring around the bottom of the toilet bowl - which drives me absolutely nuts. I picked up these cleaning bricks on a whim, and oh my goodness! I was absolutely amazed at how quickly I was able to get that icky ring stain off of the bottom of our porcelain toilets with minimal scrubbing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

This works well , however I used up both of the pumice pads within minutes of scrubbing. The first one broke the first couple of swipes placed it onto the grill and I started the scrubbing.I got most of the grill kinda cleaned. But it was a quick and kinda crappy job of it. It leaves powder everywhere so I took the pieces off and cleaned them outside of the grill.These don’t come with instructions. Just two inside of a box. I used them dry but I’m wondering if they should be wet(?).For how quickly they get used up, and I didn’t even finish cleaning the grill, the cost doesn’t seem reasonable.

I love using these pumice cleaners for my flat grill, they work wonderfully without doing any real deep scratching.The only problem is that like with all pumice cleaners, if you use them with water, they don't really last long. But you really should use them with water to help avoid scratching the surface of your grill.
