great!!!!!
The Merrell Trail Glove 7 is a great product that excels as a durable, comfortable, and natural-feeling minimalist shoe.1. Durability and Construction (The Advantage Over On)Vibram EcoStep Outsole: This is the key to their durability and superior grip. Merrell uses a high-quality Vibram outsole (often made with 1$30\%$ recycled rubber) that features aggressive, yet versatile, 2$2.5 \text{mm}$ lugs.3 This tough rubber provides excellent traction on trails and holds up much better to wear than the cushioning elements of many competing lightweight shoes.Minimalist Upper: The shoe features a durable, 4$100\%$ recycled breathable mesh upper with strategic overlays.5 It’s built to withstand the scuffs and scrapes of the trail without tearing, addressing the exact issue you had with your previous pair.One-Piece Sole: The design of the Trail Glove 7 (unlike some older versions) uses a more integrated sole, reducing the points where the tread can detach or peel off, enhancing its longevity.2. Comfort and Performance (Barefoot Feel)Barefoot Feel with Protection: The Trail Glove 7 features a 6$0 \text{mm}$ heel-to-toe drop and 7$14 \text{mm}$ stack height.8 This low profile encourages a natural foot position and gait, strengthening your feet and providing excellent "ground feel" while still offering enough protection (via a Float Pro Foam midsole) to shield you from sharp rocks. Wide Toe Box: These shoes provide a comfortably wide toe box, allowing your toes to splay out naturally.9 This is a critical feature for comfort, stability, and reducing foot fatigue, especially over longer distances. Versatility: You can use them for trail running, hiking, light gym work, and all-day casual wear. They are lightweight, flexible, and dry quickly, making them highly versatile.

A Trustworthy Companion for Diverse Hiking Adventures
I recently took the Merrell Men's Trail Glove 7 Sneakers on a road trip across the US, and they proved to be an excellent choice for my hiking adventures. As someone who weighs around 230 lbs, finding comfortable hiking footwear can be a challenge, but these sneakers exceeded my expectations. They provided exceptional comfort and support, even after prolonged periods of hiking, which is a testament to their design and cushioning. The versatility of these sneakers was truly put to the test as I traversed various terrains, from deserts and forests to mountain trails. They held up remarkably well in different environments, offering the stability and grip needed for safe and enjoyable hikes. It's rare to find a pair of sneakers that can adapt so well to such a range of conditions, and these Trail Glove 7s did just that. One piece of advice for potential buyers: be cautious when hiking on really dusty trails. The mesh design of the sneakers, while great for breathability, does tend to let in a fair amount of dust. This wasn't a deal-breaker for me, as they are easy to clean, but it's something to consider if you're not keen on the idea of dust getting between your toes. In conclusion, the Merrell Men's Trail Glove 7 Sneakers are a solid choice for anyone looking for durable, comfortable, and versatile hiking footwear. Their performance across various terrains is impressive, and they manage to provide comfort and support even for a heavier individual like myself. Just keep in mind the mesh's susceptibility to dust on certain trails, and you'll be set for a great hiking experience.

Back To Being A Minimal Shoe
After the disasters that were version 5 and 6 of the Trail Glove, Merrell got it right again with version 7. While not a true "barefoot" shoe, it is a great minimal shoe, with just enough protection from the ground to do some good trail runs or hikes. The shoes seem well-built, and look great. A tiny bit of arch support, but not enough to bother me. The only things I would say that could be improved is that the toe box could be a bit wider, and I also prefer the old outside design. If I want barefoot I'll use my Vapor Gloves, but when I want the extra bit of protection, these shoes are now my go-to choice.

Wouldve been perfect if it had a slightly wider toe box, but still very good.
These are very comfortable shoes with a balance of being very flexible yet having some (minimal) cushioning. As others have said, theyre also a great transition shoe for conditioning feet into thinner soled, more hard core barefoot shoes. The toe box is roomy but couldve been a bit wider. They also do a great job running and jogging on trails, good grip, good flex and feedback with just enough cushioning to protect the feet from rocks and gravel.

Comfortable for me and my orthopedically challenged feet.
I'm a woman with big feet and orthopedic problems. These shoes best meet my needs. Their wide toe-box doesn't put pressure on my hammer toe and long middle toe. Comfortable.

Great Trail Runners
Absolutely love these shoes. I had Merrill Dogfish Heads that I loved which have been discontinued. Been a Hoka fan since, but after buying these: I’m on Merrills again. They fit great and have good grip. Nice and light and they dry quickly.

Excellent Replacements!
These are excellent shoes and great replacements for my older version. The sole is quite soft when compared my old version so I don’t expect long term endurance. The fit is perfect as is the comfort. Since I like them, I got a second pair in case some crazy new model appears that make these difficult to find. Here’s a more personal insight from which I made my assessment: I’m extremely easy on shoes and do everything possible to maintain the shoes that I really like. At my age (59 years), once I have something that works, I’m very reluctant to change, but in the case of my VERY old Trail Gloves (gen 1?) it became time. Repairs using glue and Shoe Goo were effective for many years but even using those two products, the shoes reached their service limit. After not finding the same model, I tried these version 7’s and I’m pleased with the fit but the soles are going to wear quickly.

Poor tread pattern for durability.
The are very comfortable but the tread pattern is thin causing it to wear fast. The predecessor was a bit smaller in the toe box making it a little less comfortable but the tread was far more durable.

Not a wide toe box, they should offer this in a wide being 'barefoot' shoes. I doubt these would fit men very well, as they naturally have a wider foot.. The women's size was even more narrow and ran very small, not true to size. Fits comfortable without socks, not very comfy with socks as the toe box isn't as wide as i'd like, we'll see how they last as I will be using on some pavement in which i've read many reviews that the soles wear down fast.
