For those interested in the ratio, I used 30 of these beans (split down the middle and cut in half for maximum surface area) with approximately 30 ounces of 80-proof spirits. After just a short time, the liquid is already turning a deep amber color, proving that the beans are full of rich vanilla oils and are already making a truly fine product. Made vanilla extract in bulk to gift for Christmas this year. I had so many compliments on how delicious it was. Plan to continue to make. Easy to make and the quality of bean was perfect. Strong aroma just as described. Appearance was pleasing and thickness to my liking.
