I purchased from Amazon the Destinations Bird Haven Shower curtain and matching towels for my guest bathroom along with the Bird Haven soap dish and tissue box. My husband felt that in order to achieve the "spa feel" we needed a mat made out of a natural material such as sea grass or jute. Prices for sea grass and jute mats on other sites were astronomical or the size that I wanted (2'x 3') just wasn't available. NuLoom's price was both reasonable and affordable. It arrived rolled up in a tube, and the mat wanted to retain the familiar shape. After rolling it in the opposite direction both lengthwise and widthwise, it lay flat. The backing is a thin felt with aeration holes and the instructions recommend professional cleaning if spot cleaning and air drying fail to accomplish removal of stains. It had a faint aroma of wet straw which I LOVE, but after a day or two the aroma is almost entirely gone. My grandmother's walk-in pantry always smelled of wet straw, and I used to hide in there just to get a whiff. It brought back pleasant memories. When I made the purchase, I was a bit put off by the canvas edging as I thought it looked a bit industrial. However, in person it is actually quite lovely material and it matches my Destinations Bird Haven accessories perfectly. They, too, have a similar band at the bottom and the color is a close match. When my husband saw the finished décor he said, "Aw! Perfect! It has the "spa feel".

I first ordered a “like new” mat that arrived with a big brown stain on the canvas trim. Issued a return but the quality appeared good, with a tight weave, as I wanted, so I repurchased a new one. The new one arrived yesterday so tightly rolled that it practically rolled itself back up when I tried to lay it flat. I rolled it the opposite direction, placed it upside down with a few weights on the corners for a few hours, took a blow dryer to the back side, but it still refused to lay remotely flat. As a last attempt, I rolled it one last time, opposite of how it was shipped but according to Nuloom’s suggestion of rolling at a diagonal, positioned so it couldn’t unravel and left it overnight. This morning it laid almost flat, with one corner a bit lifted. I got the 2x3 size to use next to my backdoor. I had planned to order a larger size for my front entrance but fear the steps I needed to take to get the small one flat would be much harder with a larger size. It is extremely stiff and stubborn but looks nice as an entry rug if you can get it flat.

Items match description and photos. I purchased three of these. My last set last 10 years and was still going. But it was time to refresh. The thick weave of the sisals feels and looks gorgeous. I love the binding. The seller had my sisals all wrapped up and protected. Nice to have natural earthly fibers under your feet.

Wound tight as a drum, and of course, wound the wrong direction so it will never ever ever ever lay flat. If something needs to lay flat, wind it right side out, so that it curves into the ground, not up and away from the ground. What a concept, am I right? I swear it seems like humanity has just lost any ability for critical thinking. Plus, it won’t come anywhere close to fitting back into the shoddy packaging to return it, which is probably the only thing that was actually intentional on their end in this exchange. What a colossal disappointment and a waste of my money. I’d give it 0 stars if I could.

I purchased two of these carpets! Love the look, the material, but I’m struggling to get them to lie flat … edges curl up making a tripping hazard. The have tried rolling both ways to reverse the curl, placed heavy objects on all the corners, but no success yet! Will keep trying as long do like the material and colour of the sisal.

Dislike the corners stick up after it is unrolled.

I laid this out upside down a few days to see if it would flatten out and then I rolled it back up in the opposite direction for a couple of days and it is still not flat. It may get there eventually but even if it does, the edges are not straight so at best, it won't look that great but it is usable but doesn't look to be a quality rug. Rather disappointed. 4 months later, it's still curled up and starting to fray. Hate buying rugs online. Rarely happy with them.

Beautiful rug. Great as a mat which we put in our sauna. Wouldn't want to have in a room as it isn't very comfortable to walk on.

Quality is really good but unexpected size, it is completely misleading from the pictures shown on Amazon, hoping to be used for a living room but it is more like a door mat 😒

It’s beautiful, let me be clear it is still in front of our door. It hides any dust/dirt and is super duper easy to clean.But it’s been a month and that damn rug still IS NOT FLAT! I have rolled it the opposite way, laid heavy things on it, laid it upside down for two weeks…and. Those. Edges. Are. Still. Curled.

Using this for my cats’ food & water area. Good quality & looks very nice. Needs to be weighted down for a substantial time before the sides don’t curl up anymore. Would buy again!

The rug arrived rolled up and it was impossible to flatten it. The material feels like straw and there were defects pulls. I returned it immediately.
