Proform Carbon Treadmills: Treadmills for Walking and Running with Built-in Fan and SpaceSaver Design

I was pleased to say that my treadmill arrived a week early. It was packaged very well. UPS did some damage to the outside of the box but it had no impact on the product inside due to its packaging. My one complaint was in regards to two metal pieces that were tie wrapped to the legs. They looked like they were a part of the treadmill however there was no mention of the pieces in the owners manual. An hour long phone call with customer service advised me that they were packing material and could be discarded. Overall the product went together relatively easy. The owners manual was easy to follow. Putting the treadmill through its paces showed to have a great incline ability (very smooth). The treadmill is well built and rather heavy duty in that our larger members of the family that use it comment that it is very stable and does not move at all. I find the value of what I paid for what I received was a good value. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars!!!!

I'm absolutely thrilled with this treadmill. I have walked at many gyms and find this to be as good or better than many gym treadmills. I don't use the iFit app. I just walk. The belt stays firmly in place while I walk and the elevation and speed are consistently accurate. I love that it folds up, even though the treadmill platform is extremely heavy. The display is large and easy to see. It takes up about as much space as a desk when it's folded. The assembly video made putting it together very straightforward. But this is definitely a two person job. At least one person has to help balance the treadmill at certain points.

Overall I really like this treadmill. My only negative about the purchase experience was that it was delayed a month from the time of order and I saw the drivers delivering it - let’s say they weren’t the most delicate of people. Luckily the treadmill was well packed and padded so there was no damage. I purchased it on Black Friday deal - so value-wise I definitely cannot complain. The box is large about 5-6 foot by about 3 foot and really heavy, I’d say around 200 lbs. If you need to move this especially upstairs or even in to a room you will need more than one person. If you are able to do it yourself, then you are a beast and probably do not need this treadmill. Assembly was pretty straightforward - it took about 1-2 hours. Would be a lot easier now I know how to do it but I took my time. My belt was fine as far as its tightness and there was no slippage. Really no other issues with putting it together and getting it fired up. I had a proform treadmill before and got about 10 years or so out of it maybe 2000+miles. This was similar to that in terms of size, it’s not too small for regular running - I tend to do about around 6mph and it works for me well in terms of size (I am about 6ft and wt ~160 lbs). I do not intend to use the iFit - I just run with a slight grade. I really like that it has Bluetooth so I connected my iPad and streamed music to the two built in speakers. I found that it has a USB-c on the right side of the console so that was a bonus! (It is only for power so for me that works out). There is a nice ledge for an iPad or phone, the only negative with using an iPad is that it blocks the treadmill data screen -such as time, calories, speed etc … The unit seems to be well built and I am happy so far. I hope I can get a decade out of this one too! If there are any issues will update. 12/26/2024.

The ProForm Carbon treadmill series offers an impressive mix of performance, comfort, and value, making it a strong choice for both walkers and runners. The handle bar install is having issues since they arent straight so i found this to be a very annoying issue sincewe cannot roll up to move it easily. But for the price point, the overall performance and versatility stand out. If you're looking for a reliable treadmill for daily walking or running without jumping into commercial-grade pricing, the ProForm Carbon models hit a sweet spot. A solid 4-star choice.

The Proform brand has been very reliable for us and we had moved at one time and sold our machine. So here we are the owner of a new Proform treadmill. Amazon delivered this by truck and two strong guys placed it safely in our garage. We have a finished area in our garage so we did not have to carry it any further! My husband and I started putting it together and it went really smoothly and only took us few hours. Now understand we are older, retired and not in a big hurry to get stuff done. The directions were easy to follow. I had read it takes two people to assemble and yes it did mainly when holding up the deck up to place the storage latch bars as well as having that second person to hold parts in place while he set the screws. We did not have any problems getting the machine to turn on- just insert the orange safety switch and the power came on. The machine paired easily with our wifi. I scanned the QR code to install IFIT and we are using the free 30 day trial that is offered with a single person membership at $14.99 ~ there is another package that is $39 for 4 profiles but it doesn’t offer a free trial. The package made my husband happy he can walk in New Zealand. The belt runs smoothly, and the buttons are responsive when changing speed/incline. Some mentioned they felt the incline was slow but seriously do we need instant gratification with everything? Seriously the incline responds very well - it’s not “slow” and we aren’t in a hurry to get somewhere afterall we are on a treadmill! The speakers are adequate tho I used our Bose with my phone to get fuller sound. Treadmill folds up easily and we could roll it into place even with the small wheels that it has. The only issue I had was when registering for the warranty there is a space for the version number. I spent way too much time trying to find the version number and gave up. The next day after the Proform chat bot failed me, I spent some more time on Google and tada I found it! On your manual it has the model number then a PERIOD and a number after the PERIOD that is your version number! You can find model number and serial also on the underside treadmill when it is folded. The PERIOD is small and easily missed but I took a screen shot of it and zoomed in and BOOM there it was! Great purchase and now we have a wall calendar and a pack of shiny reward stars. It doesn’t take too much to entertain yourself once you hit age 70.

I just took delivery of this treadmill, and I couldn't wait to start using it. Please note, the package that you will receive is very big and very heavy. The packaging was great as it perfectly protected my purchase. Unpacking the treadmill was straightforward, and it comes with a very useful assembly tool set and an excellent assembly instruction manual. It is possible to asemble the treadmill by yourself, but a second pair of hands is very helpful when attaching the righthand upright. Fast forward about 75 minutes and the treadmill is ready to use. The built-in wheels help moving it, that is for sure. The running deck is very long, which is what I wanted, but its folding feature helps with storage. You can use external programs connected via Bluetooth if you want to, or you can use the manual settings. Adjustment of speed is very simple and fast to take effect. The increase in incline is equally simple and quickly applied and the electronic display is large, clear, and can be brightened or dimmed at your preference. I have had a Pro-Form treadmill before and it was good, this is definitley an upgrade, and it is very good quality. I am 6'2" 250lbs and this treadmill is perfect for my needs.

TLDR: Treadmill works fine in manual mode but if you are looking to purchase for the automated ifit trainings look further. App constantly crashes and customer support sucks. I purchased this specifically for its ability to run ifit running programs that automatically control the treadmills speed and incline. My first 10 attempts to get them to work together left me with no choice but to reach out to ifit customer support (which frankly they shouldn’t even be allowed that title because there was no support provided). The treadmill and ifit would connect fine, then I would choose a program, start the workout, and all worked great until the warmup was ending and the main video playing. At that point the app would consistently crash within a quarter second and send me back to the iPhone/ipad Home Screen. I tried on multiple devices, confirmed I had solid WiFi running 350MB up/down, unplugged and plugged the treadmill back in, deleted the app and reinstalled, etc. It was at this point I went to ifits website and hit the chat option. Their chat bot told me to try resetting the treadmill to factory settings. I went through every page of the owners manual, no instructions how to do this and the bot didn’t provide me a link or anything helpful to instructions so I was forced to reach out to CS. Started with 1 department then was juggled to another after a long wait. It became very clear that agent had no familiarity with the product or the software. For example, 45 min into this he admitted he thought this was a treadmill with a video screen that was built in (not one you needed an iPad or similar to connect with). Now bear in mind this is 45 minutes of me explaining the exact issue and that I have tried several different iPhones/ipads, and I had provided both the model and serial number of the treadmill. The call ended with me being told he hoped the device would team would find a resolution and add it into the next app version update. REALLY??!! No timeline for that or guarantee but he could offer me 2 months free of ifit subscription. Ummmmm, how about a refund since yall are selling a service that doesn’t actually work as advertised. Thanks ifit for wasting a couple hours of putting together a treadmill and then at least 4 hours of frustration with your product and lack of support. If you just want a treadmill for its manual functions then this one is fine but if you are wanting it for the ifit programming then maybe the ones with the built in screen work better or a peloton (I don’t have any experience with either of those options so best of luck).

This is a great treadmill with a good price point. My husband and I use it regularly, and have been pro-form customers for years. Reliable and last for a long time.
