These Mr. Pen blocking mats are exactly what I needed for my crochet projects. Lucky and happy that I found this alternative to the pricey boards for sale. I was about to give up searching -- and found these mats. Mr. Pen interlocking mats. I was able to block and then stiffen my crocheted snowflakes. And I did not break the bank!

Work as needed for blocking my granny squares. these are on the thinner side and the pins poke right through so be careful when picking them up.

The boards are great, I love the grid on them. They worked well for a sweater I was blocking. I was nervous because I hadn’t blocked anything before. So I soaked my project, rolled it into a towel and stepped on it to get out all the excess water I could, and laid it out on the mat. To my surprise it was super easy material to work with and the grid helped me keep everything square. I left it overnight and checked it again the following afternoon and to my horror there was rust all around the pins and all over my sweater that I spent over 30hrs making…. I will have to buy rust proof pins which is an additional purchase I didnt plan on making. Luckily the rust came out of my sweater with a little tlc 🥲 If you buy this, don’t make my mistake and add rust proof pins to your cart.

Oh I love these! The grids are clear and easy to see, the pins were a very helpful addition and best of all these seems like sturdy mats. There weren't any harsh smells and I didn't have any concerns about the mats being easily damaged. The handwritten note is such a nice personal touch. I'm going to be buying more of these soon. This first four panels will be perfect to block out a circular yoke I'm knitting but I can tell these will be perfect for blocking lace knitting and some colourwork mittens I've gotten started on. These also seem very easy to store as they're not extremely thick but not concerningly thin.

These are just what I needed. I bought four packs in order to block a large sweater and a tank top, both knitted pieces. For those saying the grid doesn't line up for every block, you need to rotate the blocks sometimes for the grid to line up perfectly if you are using the grid. For example, the block are numbered, so if block 3 doesn't line up, just rotate it until it does. This has worked perfectly for me every time. Each pack comes with a bag of pins but I already had large blocking pins that I used, which I love.
