Excellent receiver for those who want to listen to Dolby Atmos on a budget and with high quality
The media could not be loaded. The first emotions when I received this receiver: How huge and heavy it is. After I connected it temporarily to my old speakers from the old receiver, and decided to listen to Dolby Atmos music from Apple Music and I was very delighted! My speakers from 2008 from budget LG acoustics began to sound much cleaner, and the Dolby Atmos sound amazed me. I really liked the way the receiver distributes the sound to all the speakers, each speaker has a separate signal, which gives the sound that you are on stage and the artist is standing in front of you and singing. I also can't help but mention games and movies. The sound is divine both there and here. In the game Until Dawn, for example, the sound gave even more atmosphere so much that I did not go into this game without the speakers turned on. When watching movies, the sound is as if you are in a movie theater. But there are also disadvantages. The first is that in many cases the receiver cannot determine the input codec. Sometimes the Dolby signal is received as stereo or vice versa, but this is only with the phone, with the computer everything is fine. The 2nd is the volume via Bluetooth. It is very quiet and there are no codecs for HiRes. And so, basically I did not notice any other disadvantages. I ordered Polk XT15 speakers for this receiver and I think that it will turn out to be an excellent audio system for this budget. The quality of the receiver itself is excellent, no complaints about it. It has enough power and the installation and setup are very simple, I figured it out the first time. I did not check the image quality, since my receiver is connected to a monitor, and I do not display an image from it. If anything, is it normal that when outputting from an iPhone, the sound is in Dolby Atmos format, the Dolby Surround mode is turned on on the receiver

Functionality
I have owned this brand of receivers before, and they have always lasted the test of time so it was in a no-brainer when it came time to upgrade to purchase another one. The receiver does everything that states it will do swimmingly although I’ve only had it for a week so far so good. One of the best features I like about this receiver is the audio calibration set up and may put this thing together easy. The receiver captured all the right frequencies from subwoofers to the tiniest of my speakers so there was not much for me to do but sit back and enjoy for those of you looking for something extremely simple but with updated features go with this sit back and enjoy your new sound stage. Also the biggest reason for me purchasing the receiver was the fact there is an audio option for increase Voice enhancement. This was a huge plus and a huge deciding factor on purging this receiver.

Excellent entry level receiver, with some caveats one should be aware of.
It's an excellent entry-level receiver. The good: it's easy to set up, nice sound. Good, simple remote. Very useful info button displays input & output audio format. Other useful modes: quick adjust, vocal enhancement, night mode.8K HDMI Video switching with no hiccups. Solid binding posts for all the speakers. (A rarity at this price point). Surprisingly attractive & hefty unit for the price. Overall, a terrific value for the money, provided one is not after an effective EQ & room correction tuning. Unbeatable amplification and processing at this price point—$250. (Sometimes it goes on sale for $200!!) The bad: It is not possible to adjust each channel's level individually post calibration, only the front speakers & the subwoofer. Otherwise, you are forced to run the calibration routine all over again.AccuEQ was ineffective for my dorm room, it kept choosing the wrong crossover frequencies. It consistently picked 70 Hz for the fronts/center/rear channels. These Klipsch speakers roll over -3db at 110 Hz and were not included in the pre-set cross-over modes available. I had to perform a 100% manual calibration on my Klipsch 5.1 Reference HT using an SPL meter + DVD Audio test tones (All channels frequency sweep 15–20 kHz, bass management 15Hz to 150 Hz) to dial in a proper blend between the subwoofer & the satellites. The Odyssey EQ calibration on Onkyo's past receivers was far superior.
