Whalen Furniture Brixham 54" Media Entertainment Console & TV Stand with Electric Fireplace, Brown Cherry

It looks so nice! I absolutely love it. For the size of it I got a great deal! Not even $250 and yet it looks really expensive. It works great and looks great too.It’s 34.5” tall, 54” wide, and 15.75” deep. I have my 55” tv mounted above the fireplace. I like it a lot because the fireplace is a little longer than the tv (which is what I was looking for), and the height is perfect. It also arrived a day early. :) Not to mention, it has lots of shelf space!It has two glass doors on each side (with a shelf in each), and two large rectangular cubbies above them. All of the cubbies are spacious and can hold lots of DVDs/decor/xBox/DVD player/computer/etc.I tried to find a color that matched my other cherry wood tables and shelves that I have in my living room, but I couldn’t get the exact color. However, if the room is extremely bright, you can tell they are different colors, but with normal lighting they look great together.Another thing I like about this fireplace is that you can change the brightness of the ‘flames’ (3 settings), you can choose to either have it blowing heat or not when the ‘flames’ are on (it makes the room really cozy), it included a touch-up marker (matches perfectly), AND it came with a remote. How awesome is that!There were no huge defects on it. I only had to fix a tiny dot with the marker. Can’t even tell where it was now.The pieces assembled together nicely, but it did take some time putting it together. It took my fiancé and his friend about an hour and a half, but it wasn’t difficult; just a lot of pieces. It looks gorgeous! Heater went out after first year's light use. Called company and they were not very helpful. Would return if I could.

Beautiful unit once assembled. Heater works very good and will heat a pretty good size area. Perfect fit for a 55" flat screen .Didn't like the cheap looking fasteners or the limited control options for the heater..Running cables/wires was a bit of a problem being centralized in center. Had to drill hole in backboard to run cable to cable box. (Location issue)Overall worth the price and a nice looking unit.

I bought this to use in our living room. It arrived and looked fine but when my husband got everything out and unwrapped he put together the entertainment center then unboxed the heater and noticed it was bent. We called and went to place an exchange and was told it wouldn't be available for 3 months!!!! 🤬Since it's winter here in Iowa that wasn't going to work so we kept it because it worked but it looked bad. Then on December 17th it stopped working. The heater turns on then blinks twice then shuts itself off. We are very disappointed! When it arrived it worked and looked nice.

Nice looking, however the fireplace itself was bent and made a terrible noise, however Whalen sent me another one and all I’d fine now.

I'm reviewing this console from a value aspect. There are higher quality units, but also cost much more.The dimensions are exactly what I wanted. Consoles of this size are somewhat hard to find, so choices are limited. My 55" flat screen TV fits nicely and height is perfect for viewing from my recliner. It is deep enough to sit solidly. Weight is pretty heavy also making it solid.The design features look nice. The ample shelves, two glass-doored side cabinets, and electric fireplace with gray surround all look nice to my eye. The dark finish matches my expresso end tables and wood trim on my sofa.Assembly was a breeze. I never thought I'd ever say that about put-together furniture. I've had miserable times trying to assemble things over the years. This one just went very well, with no problems. The number of pieces is small and attaching them went fast. The pieces were labelled correctly and instructions well illustrated, so steps were easy to understand. There were quality assembly points like all holes well drilled and aligned, doors and hinges already built, hinges easy to adjust, padded shelf pegs, and screws attaching back panels. It ended up very sturdy like a much more expensive console.The fireplace is not a high end unit. It looks OK to me so no problem. The small remote controls normal functions of on/off and flame height/brightness. I have not tried the heater, and likely will not use it here in the Arizona desert and trying to limit electricity usage.NOTE: Not part of the review, the top back left corner was damaged during shipment. I will put some glue on the turned up wood and press it down. It should then look fine.

I purchased this 2 weeks ago and just love it! I live with my son and daughter-in-law in a cozy mom-in-law suite and wanted something with the right ambiance and this was definitely the right piece of furniture. The tv stand itself is a very heavy and sturdy piece of furniture and I just love the look of the fireplace insert. The heater works great, I had to put it to use already being that my son has yet to turn the heat on in the house and last night the temp was in the upper 30's. My son and daughter-in-law put the TV stand together in about 1.5 hours without any problems.

Great product. It arrived in a very good condition. Installation was easy, instructions are very clear. I love the product it adds beauty to the room.
