Perfectly needed
This is perfectly needed to help you block any wind that might be blowing, especially to help keep your flame going and not going out. It fits perfectly into my firedisc, and it looks great. Easy to use and set up, heavy duty . Needed for the beach where wind always seems to be blowing.

Well Made - Does the job
I was hesitant to purchase this but after one outing on my balcony with my firedisc I knew I needed something to control the wind. I sprung for it and after with this on the unit it was noticeably hotter during the cooking process.It's very well made and folds flat when not in use. I couldn't have fabricated something equal for the same price so it was worth the expenditure.Like others I will echo that for the price of a firedisc it should be included.Additionally I ordered the 120 quart lid from Amazon to assist when a lid is needed.

Easy to use - works to keep heat concentrated on the disc.
I used my firedisc in wind and it worked. However, I used my firedisc while also using the Wind Helmet and noticed an increase in the amount of heat I was able to maintain within the disc. There's no reason this helmet wouldn't last the life of your disc. I was reluctant to purchase at first, assuming I could probably create something to do the same job. However, after using this helmet and seeing that it packs and stores flat when not in use it is clearly worth the $. I would recommend this Helmet for anyone who cooks in any location with even mild wind.

Helps centralize the flame with gusts of wind.
It's pretty windy here in the southwest and this has helped us to be able to isolate the fire to evenly heat up our disco. Before we purchased this, we were having to create a wall to block the wind when cooking outside, but for the wind direction to change constantly and would blow the flame creating heat to one side of the disco. This helps with low to medium gusts and wind.
