Effective upgrade for an old and slow laptop
I upgraded my friends laptop with is this SSD a few months back after she started having issues with her spinning HDD. Even though from a storage size perspective it was a slight downgrade, it does not matter since after the upgrade everything is smooth. It was an easy upgrade which saved the laptop from pretty much going into recycling. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a budget upgrade for their laptop.Note that I upgraded the RAM from 4GB to 8GB as part of this upgrade.

Does what it says
Good performance drive for a good price.Bought for running an older machine. Massive boost over a mechanical hard drive. Combine with an SATA to IDE adaptor (also available from Amazon for round £8) and you can transform n old XP machine.Needed to run old software - works like a dream 👍

Great inexpensive SSD
Only purchased to extend the life of an aging PC used by my wife for browser based jobs & where a new PC would have been overkill. It was not a brand I had heard of but as I was cloning the old drive I thought I would give it a try & am pleased I did. The new boot up speed has gone from 200+ seconds to just 30 seconds & things like web browsing & low intensity tasks are lightning fast by comparison with the old traditional HDD.

2 months old and it died, with barely any use.
*Update 14/3/25Despite many attempts to contact the manufacturer regarding the drive dying after only 2 months of barely any use, I have been completely ignored at every turn, not a single response! So I must concur with my initial assessment and reiterate that under no circumstances would I recommend anyone purchase anything from this brand.Faults happen, nothing has a 0% failure rate, but to completely ignore a customer just because they have a faulty product, that's bad form in my book.I will certainly be giving this brand a very wide berth in the future, based solely on their complete lack of customer support.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Original review.....I debated writing this review, but ultimately decided I would as a fair warning for other potential purchasers.I’ve had this drive for three months, it was used as a backup storage for my music files, and so being just for backup purposes wasn’t really used much beyond the initial files transfer.A few weeks ago however, despite being so new, and despite such little use, the drive has developed a fault. Although I can still get the drive to show up in explorer, that’s about the limit of its functionality.I was trying to transfer over a file, of around 300MB in size so it should have been lighting quick, and was informed by the file transfer process that it was going to take 2 hours 25 minutes. Surprised, I decided to let it continue, but after several hours and a reported transfer time of several days, I gave up.I tried several other transfers, of varying sizes, but got the same results. So I tried in a different computer and got the same results. I tried putting it in an external enclosure and tried transferring files with my Windows Laptop, my MacBook Pro and my Mac Mini. Each and every one had similarly ridiculous time estimates, followed by failure to transfer.Attempting to reformat the drive has made no difference to the results either, so it’s safe to say there is some fundamental fault with the drive.I took a chance on this brand, not being familiar with them but I wish I’d just stayed with one of my usual brands. For it to have failed so catastrophically, so soon, and with so little use is not a good sign and gives me zero confidence in the brand, which I will be avoiding in the future.I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone purchases these products.
