Very good, easy to use
Very un-fussy little device. I read enough of the instructions to get the basics, and that's all i needed. Sure, there's dozens of combinations of lught and sound and time, but simple always works best for me. The first "white noise" selection, at moderate volume, was fine and it did just what i wanted it to do. No fuss, no fiddling around with knobs and dials.Suggestions for future sounds: colicky baby, truck brakes screeching and locking up, cats fighting, car alarm going off, hiccups, snoring, fingernails on blackboard, etc. This is a handy little gadget, glad i bought one. Recommended.

Amazing product
This white noise machine works well, I had not slept through the night in so long. We have an older dog that coughs during the night and b/c this continually runs once I know he is OK I can get back to sleep. I also like that I can have the light completely dimmed, I have a great choice of sounds and levels. This machine is a bit more than some others but if you can afford it, you will get your moneys worth in wonderful sleep.

High quality sound machine
This sound machine has a wide/varied selection of sounds to choose from. Machine has high quality sound and easy operation. Great for home use and very easy to travel with. You do not need to connect to wifi or have a subscription to have access to the sounds, which is great for travel and for use in general. Very easy for a child to operate too. My son loves it!!

Better than just playing sounds from a computer speaker
Tl;dr version: Gapless loops, speaker has some good bass reverberation, solid assortment of sounds, has battery and can play while chargingI'm someone who has always slept with a fan on; tinnitus means that without some sort of external noise, all I can hear is that constant high-pitched ringing. When it comes to wintertime however, I haven't always wanted the fan blowing on me, so I just turn it to the side. For a while I also tried playing noise through the speakers in one of my old tablets, but even that wasn't satisfactory, since they couldn't cover up the bassier noises that seem to creep everywhere. In this box you get the unit, a USB-C cable, and a short manual, and that's about it. The 29 sounds in total consist of seven different fan noises, seven different types of noise (white, pink, brown, etc.), and 15 "nature sounds" (forest birds, ocean waves, crickets, campfire, train, tick-tock of a clock, thunder, more ocean sounds, rain, water pouring, a dripping sink, a quite frankly horrible hiss, fetal sounds, a lullaby, and a music box). Otherwise, you can set a 30-90 minute timer, or just leave it going consistently. There is also a night light which has an adjustable brightness. Otherwise, the other input is volume, naturally.Having used some apps for this in the past, one bit of functionality that is understandably missing here is the ability to mix different sounds (i.e. storm and fan). As well, there is no ability to upload custom sounds, so what was listed before is what you get. There is a battery included, and battery life naturally varies based on whether you have the night light on, and how loud you have the machine. It does however run while plugged into a USB charger, so it doesn't matter all that much. The provided cable is pretty long at about four feet long, so it should be able to go wherever you need it to go.As far as actually sleeping with it, the bassiness of the speaker does definitely help a lot in a way that smaller laptop or tablet speakers can't quite do. The fan sounds that I prefer to sleep to are quite good at covering up those stray noises, and there wasn't any hint of a loop that I could hear. That alone can put it above a lot of software implementations of this idea, since even a tenth of a second of skip is enough to jolt my attention. For the various colored noises you can use software like aplay, but that's Linux specific, and again only covers the standard things like white, brown, pink, etc.Ultimately, when it comes to the task of providing noise for sleeping, it's something that I could easily get used to... when it comes to the cooler months. It's summer right now; I'm using my fan!
