It's the right size for a home kitchen. I was on the fence for a while about getting a compost bin rather than using a repurposed bucket, but it's so well designed that I'm not sorry in the least. The lid hangs off the opening in a convenient way when you are using it and fits neatly when you are done. Really no complaints.
