I was surprised at how small the roll was and how heavy it is. This indicates it's a lot of steel wool wound tightly. The description states that it's "probably 30 feet" so I read that to mean they really don't know or don't want to commit as it varies a bit. I didn't unwind it to check, but assume it's about that due to the weight.Since this is steel wool, there's not much to review other than the value. If you compare this to the cost and weight of your typical bag of 0000 steel wool pads I think this is a good value if you calculate the length of a pad, the number of pads per package, then how many it would take to reach 30 feet. Naturally these are thinner than a typical pad, but I find this is perfect for me. What I typically use 0000 steel wool for is repairing finishes on furniture. I take a piece, use a cleaner, polish or finish repair product, then toss it. So I only need a small piece, not a whole pad. So here, I can cut off a few inches with scissors instead of wasting an entire pad. For me, a roll is much more cost efficient, and if you need less than an entire pad each time, suggest you go this route as well.

This roll of steel wool was just what I needed for my project or refinishing an old knife. After sanding away most of the rust and scratches, I put on the pair of gloves included with this package and cut off a two inch section of the roll of steel wool. Then I started rubbing the stainless steel of the knife and watched all those tiny scratches the sandpaper could not get start to disappear. But this stuff is messy to use as the fine strands of the steel wool do shred off and get a fine dust of little filaments and particles of the wool on you and the surface you're working on.That's not the product's fault exactly as I think this is the nature of the fine texture of the steel wool, but it requires care and good cleanup after use.But what a great product for polishing metal. So happy I got this and now can finish(literally) my project.

I would have written this earlier but my husband put it away and I couldn't find it. On to the review. This steel wool roll is so easy to use. I can pull off a big piece or small. I use thick gloves (there are some thinner gloves included) to protect my hands. I used to clean off extra paint on shower. I also use to clean metal scrappers. I would recommend.

Very convenient way to use and store steel wool. I had never seen it sold as a roll of flattened wool ready for use with a sanding pad or hand use. This packet was marked a size-0000 and was measures as 10-ounces. The roll is about 8-inches across.

#OOOO steel wool has all sorts of uses, from cleaning machinery to refinishing wood to starting fires, and I usually have a package in my home shop. This particular example looks very much like what I usually buy (US made Homax steel wool) and the price is similar. This steel wool seems a little more brittle and sheds more particles when I’m using it, though I can’t definitively say that it does. The price is close, and my local hardware store carries Homax, so I’ll probably stick with that for now.

I love that this steel wool comes on a roll and is easily pushed in the area around the pipes coming up to the sink. Be sure to wear a protective glove (included!). We are in a rural area and mice will try to come up wherever they can when it starts to get cold outside. They hate the steel wool, and I hate them. Problem solved.
