A snippet of the incredible food created so far .
This book has been incredible in helping me to transform the way my whole house eats to aid training and healthy living . I have teens in my house who are all exercising regularly and I work out a lot . We are now in week 4 of firstly trialing all the recipes to see what everybody likes and dislikes and I am then going to use the ones that we like to save on wastage. It’s has been amazing , the shopping is easy and the food prep once into the swing of things frees up so much time in the long run, creating more time on certain evenings to read or listen to podcasts as well as busy Mum life . I have recommended this book to many of my friends and followers as I find it so easy to use. The photos are just a snippet of the meals I have created so far.I put them into glass containers and the kids and adults can grab and warm up as and when they need.

Well-meaning but rather eclectic
I'm still using Erin's first book, the Bodybuilder's Kitchen, on a weekly basis because it's so good. It suited me to a T: good old American home cooking tailored to the dietary needs of weight athletes, with the usual chapters for breakfasts, entrees, sides, and snacks. I was excited when Amazon told me she had another one coming, which I've been hoping for all these years. For this second book Erin has taken a different approach. The chapters are by training goal: bulking, maintenance, slimming – each split into different dietary styles. Each "recipe" is a combination of entree + side, making meal prep a cinch when you follow Erin's instructions. This suits especially beginners who are still unsure how to plan meals. Now, there are a few downsides with this approach. First, if you wanted a sneak preview of the type of meals you can expect to have if, for example, you wanted to do a lean bulk, this book is great but for everyday use you'll soon find there are not enough recipes in that chapter to cover for more than one week's worth of meals. Some of us also may not fancy ingredients like couscous, tofu, or soy pasta or cannot easily obtain them and want to swap in different ones. That’s where you'll have to improvise on the meal prep steps and times given and recalculate the macros from scratch. There is also a surprising reliance on ready-made commercial products, such as chicken sausage, different BBQ sauces, and baking mixes as integral ingredients to many of the dishes, which I personally am not a fan of.Some of the macros as given may not be 100% accurate, but I understand it depends on which calculator one uses. Overall, I feel that Erin has tried too hard to be all-inclusive of diverse tastes and styles (maybe a demand from the publisher, who knows?) and this way delivered a product which is of limited use to everyone but the most eclectic palates or most compliant followers. I prefer her first book, which preserves the cook’s freedom to choose how much additional fat or carbs to add to a meal, depending on one’s stage of development in their journeys.
