Updated review: After posting this, Govee reached out and offered a full refund of the product which was greatly appreciated. At some point during my troubleshooting between the original review and their message, I must have managed to factory reset the lights and they appear to be working again. We've had good luck for at least the past 2 weeks and the kids love them. As I said before, they're great lights, albeit a bit too bright at the lowest power setting, that's a minor complaint since they belong on a tree and not attached above a bed. All the same, I didn't accept the refund but I'll be ordering a second set of these in the coming weeks. Customer service reaching out so quickly encouraged me to buy some additional Govee products so I'll also be trying their table lamp and some RGB strip lights to go with it. Absolutely recommend these to anyone wanting some unique and great quality lights for their tree or house. Original review: I ordered these to be installed above the bottom bunk of a bunk bed. My kiddo loves them, the various scenes, etc. They're bright, maybe too bright for my use case, even at 1%, but they'd be perfect on a tree. Overall they feel like a good quality product with a well developed app, easy integration with Google Home and Amazon Alexa both. Expensive, but you get a really nice quality product for the money. One quirk though... After updating the lights, they no longer turn off. I can adjust brightness and scenes, but they just flicker off for a quarter of a second and then kick back on. The only way to turn them off is to unplug them. I haven't gotten to a point of resetting them but I'll get there. I suspect they'll end up working fine after, or I'll have to return them. I hope that it doesn't come to that but we'll see

These Govee RGBIC string lights completely transformed my space! The color quality is stunning . Have used these for two seasons and also as string lights in my room the rest of the year. On the tree they shine! Patterns, color combos lots and lots of options in the app. As string lights they still are very cool. Friend got Nanoleafs and I got these Govees and I think I like these better!

I love these lights because of their variety of settings as well as you can program your own setting. Fall is my favorite time of year because I love the colors. So, I decided to put up my artificial tree to make a fall tree, then when Christmas comes around, all I have to do is throw on Christmas decorations and change the light setting. Everyone else in the house now wants a set for themselves. The app was easy to set up and get connected to the strand of lights. I would recommend these. I got the 33ft strand and it just reaches around my 6.5ft tree. I would say if you had a 7ft tree or higher, you would definitely need a longer strand. In the photo is the fall setting. Each individual light can be programmed of for some reason the enormous menu of preprogrammed effects don’t suit your fancy. I bought this and a different set at the same time thinking I would save money for the smaller tree that only needed a basic lighting scheme. I immediately regretted not buying a second Govee light strand. I will say that my pastel gradient rainbow tree is lighter so the translucent and white/silver string wires blend in well. I did not search of there was a darker option for a normal tree. However- I can see easily tucking this deeply into the branches to hide the wires and still hav an amazingly stunning and vibrant lighting show for any kind of tree. Once Christmas is over these will be a permanent addition to our open space living room and kitchen area. I’ve told everyone I can about Govee and will continue to do so. I’m not paid- not an influencer- just some lady that usually buys the wrong thing and this time really got the PERFECT thing. I would also like to say that the app is fantastic, the tree works well with Alexa and you can even use Alexa to tell the lights what effect you want them to do. Now for the downside- you’re going to waste a LOT of time sitting and staring at these with your mouth open in awe- and by you I mean your whole family. I think we have just watched the tree for hours at this point.

I really like Govee lights. I have a few light strips that are 5+ years old. They work really well. The only problem is I can't get the Govee lights to stay connected to Alexa, even though it's right by two Alexa devices and the internet. It works with the Govee app, Alexa even finds them & says set-up is all finished & they're connected. Then I go to use them via Alexa & it says it's unresponsive. I do all of the troubleshooting, removing them & re-adding them to no avail. I'd give them 5 stars if I could get the $60 lights to stay connected to Alexa

Absolutely the best string of lights I have ever put on a tree. The color options and the ability to display those colors, whether flashing, chasing, solid or fading. There are so many options when it comes to how to use this strand. I will say the only thing I did wrong last year is that I put them on my tree last and the clear/white cord is definitely noticeable. That does not detract from how awesome these lights are. Almost every night I would play with new color configurations and styles and it made my tree almost feel new every day. These are a must purchase in my opinion.

These lights look amazing once they’re up — just plan your length. I used Govee Christmas string lights to decorate a full room, and the final result is perfect. The colors are vibrant, the lights are evenly spaced, and they really transformed the space. What I liked: • Bright, colorful lights that look great day or night • Easy setup and smooth connection between strands • Great coverage once installed correctly • Works well for indoor decorating, not just Christmas. Also, I’ve had many issues with other brands of led lights and these have caused me zero problems and I leave them on 24/7. Length note (important): For my room, I needed two 66-ft strands to get full coverage. One strand alone wasn’t enough for the look I wanted, so I’d definitely recommend measuring your space ahead of time and ordering extra if you want complete coverage. App experience (the downside): The lights themselves work great, but the app feels a bit outdated and didn’t work on a newer iPhone so there are potential compatibility or usability issues depending on your device. I installed it on my work phone which is a much older iPhone and it works, but the app could definitely use an update. You don’t have do use the app to use the lights but it’s needed for specialty settings. Personally, I like them with the standard buttons which have 4 settings installed already. Overall: Once everything was installed, the lights looked fantastic. If you’re okay with a less-polished app and plan your length correctly, these are a great option for room or holiday lighting. The white or clear look amazing in a room and totally change the vibe.
