Q: What is the diameter of the post? Is there a clamping bracket to hold a dial indicator with an 8mm shank?

24.9mm diameter post. This is a lug mount bracket... there is no shank mount. You need to purchase a lug back for your indicator.

Q: Can i mount a mitutoyo digimatic indicator onto this stand?

If it has a lug back. I looked up the Mitutoyo digimatic indicator and some showed lug backs but some didn’t show what they had on the back, so it depends. Also, this thing is just as heavy duty and flat as it advertises itself to be.
