Good Replacement Option
Fits good, and works good. Easy to install.

old part and expensive
This was a replacement to my old San Rafael toilet fill valve and found out that it does not come with the white plastic tube that goes over the brass tube. It's also very expensive. I ended up sending it back (seller was great and Amazon made it easy to return) and I purchased the 1068030 instead. The 1068030 is cheaper and works great.

Seems the same as 1058910
My replaced part had a smaller diameter metal base to accommodate a plastic tube that fit over the copper fill tube. After purchasing both this part and the 1058910 the only difference I could find was the 1013282 was slightly shorter. Both installed easily and are working well. Don’t forget to buy a new fill line from the shutoff to the tank to avoid a likely leak.

Genuine Kohler
This does have the small outlet at the top to which you attach the tubing to the overflow tube. Make sure you save that tube and the nut that attaches the unit to the tank. If you don't need the copper portion of the valve you can just get the plastic Fluidmaster Pro747 part for a lot cheaper and reuse the same copper leader tube. The plastic part (Fluidmaster Pro747) detaches by turning the lock nut where it joins the copper 90° and just pull it straight off. I went ahead and replaced the whole thing because the copper leader on the valve I was replacing was so filled with calcium deposits. When you're dealing with a customer and they see the genuine product in the genuine box and it looks exactly the same it gives them much more confidence in your work and justifies the price they're paying for the repair.

Amazingly expensive replacement for a common part
This unit fits our low profile Kohler toilet and is amazingly expensive. You cannot buy just the float assembly which is very easy to replace (it is a twist and lock assembly) and they insist on supplying their feed pipe. I remove the float from the feed pipe and simply remove the old one in tank and replace it. Very simple, but you pay for a copper pipe which is not necessary (and if replaced is much more involved). They are very expensive and wear out as often as the standard very cheap ball valve assemblies in other more generic tanks. This low profile (Euro style) toilet was an expensive mistake, but I am stuck with it now. Ludicrous cost for an easy to replace unit supplied with unnecessary parts. However you have no choice.

It’s the right part
This was the right part for my toilets. You can’t substitute parts like this with just anything. I’m happy these were exactly what I needed.

Cheap construction and missing parts
Would like to say that I'm surprised Kohler put their name on this. Very cheap construction and missing key parts that are essential for use. Came without external nut and without hose to direct flow from valve. Leaving out the hose makes this valve shoot water out the top back of bowl. My original valve did not use a hose, so nothing to 'borrow' to make this work. Ridiculous design made with cheap parts. How hard would it be to make the water outlet shoot down instead back? I went to local hardware store to cut my own length of hose for 29 cents. Thanks Kohler for a $67 component that is made from less than $10 worth of cheap, incomplete parts. Fits the pattern though, as the Kohler seat replacements crack within a year of replacement, too.

and was disappointed that the replacement arrived the same way
I've ordered three of these in the last year. The only complaint I've had with the product is the protection that is non-existent in the shipping box. The box is a little large for the part, which is allowed to bang around inside. One broke and I had to return it. I made a comment then, and was disappointed that the replacement arrived the same way, only it somehow made it to my home. The valve itself works great and is easy to install.
