The biggest bonus with these strings is: they are pre-looped, so if you have difficulty twisting the strings to make the required slipknots to fit over the nut, these sets are ALL ready-made to put on your sitar, even the sympathetic strings. However...every sitar is different, and what I've found is that the larger drone strings they have in these kits are frankly way too big to fit between the teeth of the jawari (bridge) without requiring some additional sawing of the bridge teeth. So I end up cannabalizing from another set the next sizes down to use as drone strings.Over time, you are better off buying wire in bulk, then cutting what you need. But starting out...a couple of these sets will do you just fine!

First time I've changed sitar strings, it was a workout, bit the strings themselves gave the sitar a nice new sound. I hadn't changed them since I bought it 35 years ago!

The strings are pre-looped on one end, but because the size of the loops, it interferes with the tuning beads. I had to cut off and reloop a lot of them, and the length of the string isn't very forgiving after that. The strings will work, but I would highly recommend just getting wire or another brand.

Worked very well, just wish there was a version for a sitar with more sympathetic strings.
