After experimenting with quite a few options, this tea is the perfect balance of high quality green tea, and toasted brown rice for me. I wish it were a bit more affordable, but it's exactly what I want if I'm craving genmai cha.

These are high quality tea bags. Yes 100 is a lot and takes a while to use them all but this is my second bag so I'm definitely going to use them. I highly recommend trying them for milk tea. I use 3 tea bags and then make iced milk tea and add a flan cup to it instead of sweetener. Its delicious!

Originally purchased this at my local supermarket in VA. I am a tea lover coming from an Asian background and this is daily part of my lifestyle. I started buying this online for convenance and for Dad in another state. Same brand! Comes from Japan and the matcha is very robust and intense - which is what you need and would expect for match roasted rice flavors. :)Highly recommend if you want to try a different flavor matcha. Its is not green matcha so be warned the taste is not the same.

I had some amazing genmaicha from a Sakuraco box and I can't find that particular brand, so I've been searching for one as good. This one is close but not quite there. The Sakuraco tea was very strongly flavored after dipping the bag a few times, and had no bitter notes, only the fresh grassy green and toasty rice flavors, almost sweet. This one has to be brewed for a minute or two and still doesn't reach the same depths of flavor. It's still quite good, but I'd like it more if I hadn't had such a stellar example already.

To her credit, steeping loose green tea leaves in a pot was her go-to, but this is the bagged tea brand my mom liked and she was a real green tea snob! Each bag is individually foil-wrapped for freshness. I remember seeing these in very good restaurants and you can really taste the vibrant green flavor over those other dusty dirt bags in some places. This brand has a roasted variety (gold wrapper) that is also very good.

Real green tea from Japan. You can't beat that drink this brand all the time.
