Delta Quality
This is a very nice looking shower valve hand trim kit. We had an old valve body that was limed up and allowed no flow from valve body to tub spout. I purchased this along with a replacement valve body, a plumber was going to do the valve body replacement and leave me with a bathroom tile remodeling job. I'll share this tip with anyone who might care, white vinegar is your friend. I got cold feet, and before turning the plumber loose I decided to try to open up the old valve. I removed the tub spout and shower head, plugged the tub spout with a rubber stopper, and filled the shower line, valve body and cartride with white vinegar using a vinyl tube and funnel. I let this sit for about 5 days, removed the stopper, and now the valve body works like new. This was a LOT cheaper and easier than the plumbing and remodeling jobs I was looking at. I used ordinary white vinegar, the kind with nutrition information that you can use to make salad dressing. I didn't fool around with cleaning vinegar or anything stronger that might risk damaging plastic and/or rubber parts.

Good shower plate
This looks so good in my new shower. It is hard to find a nice oil rubbed bronze accessory.

Still looks great!
We have used this for three years now with a high pressure shower valve. Still works smoothly. I was worried about hard water build up, but it wipes right off. We just bought a second one for a new build. Plumber installed it, but had no complaints about install.

Everything needed to replace the old faucet.
Perfect replacement for the old faucet we had that was leaking. After the struggle of getting the old one out due to corrosion from our terrible hard water this one went in easily and fixed our issues.

Looks great, works well, easy to install.
Looks great. Easy to install. Simple and straightforward use. I wish adjusting the max hot water temperature was a little easier - it's a trial and error process. But once it is done, it's done. As a DIY guy - I also wish the instructions has talked more about water proofing. I installed this over tile, and there is an inner circular plastic barrier about 1 inch inside the outside edge diameter. I suppose that is supposed to be enough, but I ended up putting a bit of silicone under the outer edge on the upper half of the outer diameter. Was that good? A waste of time? Did I make it worse? It would be nice to know how it is *supposed* to work. My other comment is now I have two mixer valves. I hired plumber to do the rough in, then I finished up the walls, tiling, etc. The rough part had a mixer valve, and this one came with one two. I suppose that is necessary, so I guess I'll have one in "inventory" and then throw it away in 10 years when I'm cleaning up!

If its an older unit, BUYER BEWARE! Trim is great, but the CARTRIDGE IS INCLUDED and could be wrong
so the trim is simple, easy to install, yada yada, it isnt worth leaving a review on by itself, BUT this DOES include the cartridge, which is great. HOWEVER, if your valve is older than 2006, the cartridge WILL NOT WORK. Long story short...got this and put the trim on with my existing/working valve, it was sticking out a bit, so i figured, might as well swap out the valves, because the stem that the handle attaches to, seems shorter. Removing the bonnet nut, is an ABSOLUTE pain. After about an hour of messing with it, i used my dremel to cut it off and bought another on amazon. Now, i go to remove the cartridge, pull on it, and SNAP, it breaks!!! The blue half stuck in the valve, where the top half was in my hand. HOURS, literally HOURS of trying to get it out, near impossible. Give up at 11pm (BARE IN MIND, WITH THE WATER TO THE HOUSE SHUT OFF), next morning, i run to the store to get more tools ($20) to remove this broken POS. Got it removed and go to install the new one that was supplied with this kit, HA, NOPE, its not the right size, literally doesnt fit and cant return it, i have no use for it. Run to lowes and spend $55 on a new valve. Get it installed, and there is still that same gap. THE GAP IS GOING TO STAY. All that time and money wasted because the old one broke, but i could have left it in there the whole time, the only reason i replaced it is because it came with a new one. Its more trouble than its worth, so if your system is older than 2006, and you can braze the joints or have a plumber do it, i would DEFINITELY recommend just going with a whole new valve/trim if you are doing a shower remodel (as i am). it would have been much cheaper and would have newer parts.

Mine was made of metal..Some kind of light weight aluminum for the ring and metal handle. The collar though was made of plastic. The title says trim only so I was pleasantly surprised to see a new monitor 14 valve in the box it came in. It matches my other oil bronze pieces (shower head, spout, and bathroom faucet). I love it. Simple yet elegant and does the job. It was also less expensive than the other delta monitor 14 oil bronze valve trim that was being sold on Amazon.
