initially sceptical but this is brilliant!
We were given one of these when our son was little, and initially I was a bit sceptical. It doesn't look great and it makes whale noises which as far as I know is the sound of whales advertising how well hung they are and how happy they would make any passing lady whales. The other noises do sound a bit tinny because of the size of the speaker and the fact it's muffled by a sheep. How wrong we were! It works like a charm. The velcro straps fix it to a cot or stroller and they're very sturdy. The batteries last for ages (4 months so far and still going) and there is a handy timer switch and volume switch. As soon as it goes on, our baby seems to calm down and if it doesn't send him to sleep, it means there's something really wrong. It helps us when we're travelling as it makes strange places more familiar. He was 3 months old when we got it and I wish we'd had it from birth. It just gives him enough space to calm himself down and go to sleep. We don't use the whale noises setting.

Best baby gift to give.
This item was recommended by my Niece as she had one for her baby and it really comforts the baby. I bought this for my Granddaughter who is having her baby soon and she can't wait to try it out.

Great for settling newborn!
Having noticed how it settled my 2 week old to ssshhhh in her ear, I started thinking about white noise. I tried it initially on my phone with an app and it worked! If she is in the right sleepy zone ie not overtired then this works when I put my daughter down awake. It does look a bit strange as there is a large plastic sound box sticking out of the back of the sheep, but from the front it looks like a pretty good quality little cuddly sheep.I would recommend trying white noise first to see if it'll work for your little one, the rain works best for us as it's a constant noise. Quite annoying having in on in the background for the adults though!

Lifesaver!
Finally tried the Sleep Sheep when our 15 month old stopped going to sleep easily. It's amazing, he focuses on it and seems to calm down when in the past he'd start to fight sleep. If he wakes up, we can turn it on and he goes back to sleep. Only had it a week and already can't imagine how we managed without it. We have the On The Go version and it's fine, it's completely portable but the sound quality is fine for what it does. If you're having sleep troubles, definitely give it a try!

Not impressed
I bought after the rave reviews on here. It didn't work for my baby. Before you she'll out £22 for this sheep, there are loads of free apps out there with various sounds that claim to help babies to sleep. Try them first and see if your baby sleeps. The item itself is not very designed. It can't be a toy, you can't give it to your baby as the big plastic sound system is wedged inside the sheep with velcro. Unless you remove the sound system it's not baby or toddler friendly so it defeats the reason why you bought for.You can only hang it out of reach of children, so there's no point having the sheep part. The sound system on its own will do if your really want it. SO before you buy it, test the whale sounds for your baby with the free whale music first from your phone.
