Godspeed to book V!!!
OMG! A great and powerful story! I plowed through all 4 books in just under a week and a half. I cannot wait for the story to continue! If you're a fan of RPGs, military style fantasy and constant action and character evolution, then this is the story for you! Never once, did I experience that "droning on" feeling while reading. Each installment just gets better and better! Dave writes in a way that it flows, keeps an active imagination and mind engaged, and brings the characters to life. So far, I have laughed out loud, cried, cheered, and held my breath multiple times as I turned page after page, unable to put it down! Please hurry with book v, Mr. Wilmarth! I can only hold my breath for so long!

Dave, please write more of this!!!
This is a really good story, well conceived and written, and great fun. It appears to be unfinished, as yet, and I sincerely hope that the author will give us at least one more volume..

Great series
I really like this series it's got comedy, interesting and the story is new. It's progressing into the plot we'll and feels like it's building momentum. Can't wait to read the next book. Wondering how you would solve the problem of the assassin's guild.

Awesome sauce
I love the story and it has me hooked. I can't wait for the next book to come out. I get a kick out of the banter from the group. It does remind me of my years in the military.

A solid entry into the series
I got this book the day it came out. Then I started reading. A few pages in I put it down and read something else. The book does start out slow, but it doesn't take long before the story picks up. Like a number of the author's stories the book does at times feel like those painting by number's books. The antagonists are a bit cookie cutter and never open to negotiation. An'zalor the orc (I think that's his name) has been around since the beginning and still hangs around in this book. Why Max hasn't put him out of his misery yet I have no idea.Having said that, I enjoyed the book and the series. This is pure sword and board fantasy with a bit of magic thrown in. The editing is okay, and the stats are there but placed in small, hard to read boxes. I'll read the next book in the series, and I'll probably complain about something, but I'll still read it. 5/5*

another amazing edition to the series!
Another seat gripping story, the character development, humour, storyline is fantastic. I can’t put these books down! Looking forward to the next one. Anyone unsure about picking this book up, no regrets you’ll thoroughly enjoy and if your curious about D&D it’s a good introduction and explains process of levelling up character, skills, traits, races etc.

Tired author
The author may be getting tired or exhausted. I hope he regains his Muse, as I have enjoyed the books so far.But Please if you (the author) intend to abandon the story, just modify this book instead of giving it a "woke" final chapter.

interesting sequence of books
Read from Book 1 and now can’t wait for book 5, it has been an interesting story with some decent character building outside of the MC and the story progressed well from one sequence to the other

Excellent continuation of an amazing series.
Good characters, both good and bad. The world is pretty big, lots of characters, locations and even separate cultures. I just went back and re-read the four book series. It was just as fun the nth time around. Hoping for a new book to advance this great series, it has been a bit and I can't wait, almost. This series and the stories in it have made me chuckle aloud, snort, and even feel like punching a character. It has been fun re-reading and refreshing my memories of the story.S.
