Great espresso microwavable coffee pot - perhaps short lifetime
Really great cafetera. I bought it along with 2 other colleagues to avoid buying the expensive coffees at the coffee shop and also be able to use our own espresso blends. Overall it is a great piece of tool. I actually thought of designing one but looked on google and found this one.I am not giving it 5 stars because after using it more than 20 times in 10days, the cafetera suddenly started leaking by the front underneath the serving pit line and the back underneath the handle line just where the top and bottom parts screw in. Don’t get me wrong, we still get plenty of nice espresso coffee. We scracthed our heads as to why this is happening. We used the right amount of water, the right amount of coffee (not presssures just added) and the exact time on the microwave. We tried it out to perfection. After further tries we found that two edges of the inner tube cup where the coffee goes where just slightly dented, but figured it was not the problem. Then we thought it was the tightness, so we tried putting more pressure on the tightness several times more to no avail. We found that something must have happened to the plastic seal as after serving it we noticed since the top part is clear that the coffee was getting in between the seal and the top part and the coffee would escape via the weakest points (the top cup of the cafetera, the inner screw line edges are not complete thus the escape path front and back). Unfortunately the more heat we put the more pressure and the more leak. So ee began cleaning and drying thoroughly, we lowered the time in the microwave, reduced the water amount and ensured the water was not either cold nor hot. Last week it worked well 2 times and 2 times did not. We therefore agreed that it was the plastic seal is not propertly working.Perhaps this is another fault that the owners can take into account on their next cafetera design or upgrade.Unfortunately, we also recently (about 1 week ago) started to notice plastic failures (breaks) initially one break on the yellow ring of the Part B component, followed by vertical line breaks (3 so far) of the Part C component, then we noticed multiple failures around the inner bottom section of the Part A as well as the bottom ring section that is used to screw in and connect with Part B.We are wondering if the coffee pot has reached its lifetime use (about 15 days ~ twice a day ~ used 32 times total), which we think it is quite a short lifetime. Thanks and I would still recommend it. The amount of money spent on coffees in 2 days paid for the coffee pot.
