PNY512GB and 256GB Elite-X Fit USB 3.1 Flash Drives

PNY brand has always been a reliable brand in my experience for data storage even in cases of older age drives that the casing may have cracked or deteriorated due to heavy usage. A smaller profile drive was needed for an application where a larger protruding drive could result in breaking the drive and this one stood above the rest. Another brand was tried and the housing of the drive was a very thin, flexible and cheap plastic that cracked and made it difficult to insert the drive. The construction of this drive is really solid. The drive can get a little warm when in use and more in heavier usage. it seems be a consistent complaint with this and other drives. The 512GB is perfect size to hold lots of data to carry around easily. Some drives have a very small hole for attaching a lanyard and typically limited to what can be put through the hole. This one has sufficient size to use with various types of key rings or lanyards. These smaller drives can be difficult to remove in tight spaces but this one has a decent sized and textured grip to easily remove. It's been in use for about 9 months and has proven to be reliable. Copy rates can vary. This also seems consistent with other drives. it can quickly but then drop down low rates and potentially pausing but have experienced this with multiple brands, capacities and computer to computer but hasn't been a terrible inconvenience. Overall highly recommend this for the reliability of the brand and quality of the design and materials.

This is the second one of these mini USB drives that I've bought. I use them in the car.Small enough to go in the car's receptacle and doesn't stick out. Unfortunately for me, also small enough to get easily lost.

It fits snug, the drive is of quality, and conforma to a nice, low profile fit and appearance. I use it on the usb port of a ps2 fat, and I don’t regret it. The drive operates fast enough to play ps1 and ps2 games, I can’t complain. If using on ps2, not all ps2 games work right on usb, but this is extremely good for any games that run right on usb. It doesn’t get hot, and everything loads smooth. I’m in love with this, perfect for laptops and game consoles. I got this to replace extensive(physically long) usb drive in front of the ps2. If you’re tired of bumping/knocking out a usb stick from a laptop or game console, this is the solution. No more risk of damaging the usb port by bumping into an xl-sized usb thumb drive :)

I replaced the bulky memory stick I was using in my Tesla with this compact one. With the other, since the socket for this in my car is shared with under-console storage, I often bumped the memory stick and inadvertently disconnected it. With this compact version, that isn’t a problem.No special prep — simply plug in the memory device, tell Tesla to format it and forget about it (until it captures and stores that critical moment)

I am very pleased

Purchased this to store music to leave in wife's car. So having something very low profile that would not stick out or get bumped was the main factor. Size is plentiful and didn't really care so much about transfer speed. This was relatively inexpensive and was a name brand that we anticipate will stand up to a bit more extreme temperatures. So far it has held up well. This seems to be a very good fit for the requirements for this application.

Use this for my RAM truck. It has the port for media in the center counsel and this is small and doesn't get hit.Works great

I use my USB sticks for emulation, music, and general storage between my PC and labtop and the previous SanDisk one I had almost fried itself.This one? Doesn't have that issue at all. At the worst this thing is only slightly hot, not burning.I need a small form one as my cats tend to sleep on top of my PC sometimes and I don't want them breaking the usb....this may have already happened and I may have lost a months worth of data. So yeah I'm happy this small form factor one was actually made with quality in mind.I am never buying from SanDisk again. And only from pny due to my experience

This "large" USB drive is small enough to leave in your laptop yet provides great read/write speeds, very useful... recommended.
