this desk is exactly what i wanted. the separate panels on the top don't even seem like an issue, they fit like one piece of wood and the overall strength, build and quality is top notch!

The desk is basically fine and rigid, however, it should be noted than you cannot clamp anything to it as lamp or monitor holder because of the metallic frame going very close to the sides of the desk edge (1-3 cm).
