ACE Deluxe Ankle Brace, Doctor Developed, Moderate Support, 1 Count

Injury background: I missed the last stair of a set of stairs while holding my newborn son. I cradled my son instead of breaking my own fall and my ankle took the brunt of the force. I tore ligaments and stretched tendons to the max but did not break anything. It's basically the worst possible ankle sprain, and now, 9 months later, I have nerve damage, every tendon is inflamed with tendonitis, because I'm a mom of four and can't ever rest my ankle.I first purchased a lace-up brace at the suggestion of my orthopedic doctor.The lace-up was a generic version of a lace-up Aircast -- dozens of variations of which are available on Amazon -- dug in at the Achilles tendon and made it too uncomfortable to ever want to wear it. I also walked unnaturally when wearing it which didn't help my associated knee, neck, and back pain.However, with *this* ACE ankle brace, instead of struggling with laces, I merely criss-cross the straps on both sides and tighten the strap around my calf. It's not as supportive or immobilizing as the lace up one, but it's pretty darn close, and seems to be doing the job. I'm able to walk around and do everything I need to do without turning my ankle. It's supportive and stabilizing and started reducing my pain and discomfort immediately. I faithfully put it on every morning, for about a month now, and honestly like wearing it. It's very comfortable and gives me confidence I can walk around without ending up in agony later on in the day.For what it's worth, something still snaps in the outside of my ankle across my foot, causing pain every once in awhile, but I don't know what to do to stop that. I'm going to try a compression sleeve/sock and see if that helps, as there is not much compression with the ACE alone.If my review was helpful, please click below!

This brace is touted as having a #3 support level, which is promoted as "providing the highest level of support and stabilization, using flexible, hinged plastic and/or aluminum stabilizers to help reduce risk of re-injury and relieve symptoms associated with acute injuries. The ACE Brand Deluxe Stabilizer is designed to help provide rigid". This claim is bogus. it only has flimsy plastic pieces that bend at the slightest movement. I am a average size male (5'8" and 145 pounds) and it did not limit to any degree what-so-ever my ankle/foot range of motion. It was as if i was not even wearing a ankle brace at all. It offered no protection at all. It didn't even offer any degree of ankle/foot compression for my inversion sprain. I do not recommend this so called brace at all and will be looking into acquiring another brace that is designed to do what it is intended to do and that is produce appropriate protection.

Too small. One size only fits skinny ankles. If you aren't under 150 with small ankles, do NOT order these. You can't return them and they don't offer refunds.Very disappointed. Purchased due to a suggestion from a friend, did not realize how unnaturally small said friend's ankles must be.This is NOT a good product for adults. Perhaps children or very small teens.

I have owned 5 to 6 of these braces over the years. I have gone through design changes with some discontent but understand the need to improve on the product. Unfortunately, what I have found is a decline in the product's design flaws and quality control. I owned my first brace for years. I used it until it wore out. I have found, over the past 4 years, a continual decline in the longevity of the product. I am now replacing this brace every few months, not years. I am very disappointed in the poor construction and lack of quality control. I have just in the past two weeks started using the last brace I ordered. It is already coming apart. This product deteriorates so quickly that I have to order another one before the one I am using is not longer usable. Please note, i use this brace everyday, all day.

Let me start this review off by saying I have severelt sprained my right ankle several times so basically my tendons are useless. I had an older version of this exact brace and loved it so I bought a second one for my good ankle (anyone with bad ankles knows that the good one gets over used to compensate thus making the good one need some support). 4 moves in 5 years later I lost one of them. I tried several other styles of ankle braces but none compared to the support this one gave me. After searching in every wall greens and CVS I could find I realized that I was an idiot and checked amazon. Obviously I found my brace. It fits just like my other one. I can swap them from one foot to the other with out noticing difference in support or fit. I really cant say enough about this brace. I wear this brace while working out and while running, it provides the stability I need so that I wont roll my ankle like I do when walking barefoot around my house (seriously that's how my last bad sprain happened). If you have not so great ankles do yourself a favor and get these.

I have been using “Mueller ankle Brace” for support a few weeks After my severe ankle sprain. I bought this to try. The stabilizer on outer side caused severe pain to my outside ankle bone when I puta shoe. I’d ordered 2 others by error. $33.00Had to return.cost $15.30. I’m not buying items on Amazon that can fit/feel different for folks of different heights & shoe sizes. Paid a high price for trying these

Excelente soporte lateral, tiene como unas varillas laterales para mayor protección del tobillo, es una tobillera que puede parecer muy sencilla ya que es de neopreno, sin embargo es muy cómoda al usar con zapatos. Me esforcé en la búsqueda, es 3M y estoy 100% satisfecha con la compra

it didn't come in good condition. the velcro seems used and its not as good support. disappointed.
