I used Clairol Nice 'n Easy hair Color for many years and was very satisfied with it. Upon the recommendation of a friend i switched to a cheaper hair color and used it for a few months. Now I'm back to Clairol. The cheaper brand faded quickly even though I use a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Not only did the less expensive brand fade more quickly, it faded into a very unattractive color. Clairol gives my fine hair more body, i like the color results, and the conditioner that comes with it is really nice. Makes hair very shiny and pretty. i am a mature woman and i get very good results from this product.

Reddish undertones. Looking for the perfect brown without the red and this is not it.

I guess I don't know what light ash brown is? All the browns seem very dark to me.After the first week and a half (daily washing) it was about were i wanted it.Maybe I need to do what the directions say... a test strip, although I'm not sure that would have been enough to give me the info I needed. I do like it now. I would by it again, but not leave it in so long. Maybe 20 minutes instead of 30.
