Works great!
Perfect for making spaetzle! Put it in the fridge or run an ice cube over the top prior to using to help keep the dough from sticking. Makes great spaetzle and cleans up easily.

My family loves Spaetzle!
Love it easier to use and clean than my more traditional one from Germany with the sliding dough feed. Make healthy, easy little noodles in a minute. I make a great chicken soup. At the end, using this gadget, I make the spaetzle right into the boiling soup. My housekeeper in Germany taught me how to make it: Beat eggs. Add salt. Add flour to make a loose dough. Use Speazle tool to put in boiling water. Scoop out when it rises to the surface. About a minute or less. Don’t use other liquid unless you don’t have enough eggs.

Fantastic
Before ordering, do measurements to be sure it will fit your stewpot. That being said, I love this product. It works fantastic and my spaetzle turned out perfectly. My recipe stated 8 servings and I was able to work it all at once through this product. What a time saver that was. I highly recommend this one, and it washes up easily by hand with no hidden corners for dough to get trapped. 10 STARS FOR SURE!!

Only the scraper is a bit flimsy
Finally and easy way to make spatzel for my favorite dish: Paprikas Csirke. My wife likes the quality of the stainless plate, but the plastic scraper is a bit flimsy and tiresome to hold/use. Overall, I recommend it.

Simplicity is the key to brilliant design
As a daughter of a Bavarian mother, I have made spaetzle all my life using a device that rides back and forth on rails over a bowl. It has always galled and snagged and needed lubrication, and the receptacle for the batter is hard to refill. This simple cover sheet made it so much faster and easier. I saw it on America’s Test Kitchen. You just pour the batter into the shallow plate over the boiling water, and use a scraper to drag the batter across the holes, working quickly until all the batter drags through the holes. What used to take more than ten minutes now takes 90 seconds. I highly recommend this much simpler way to make great dumplings. Just be sure to add nutmeg to your batter!

Works but needs a better scraper
Fundamentally, you can produce good spatzle with this on an occasional basis. The gauge of steel is adequate but seems a little thin and lacks a nice rolled edge, which would definitely make a difference if there was an actual grip-able handle. I managed to hold it in place with my hand in an oven mitt, but it's the kind of thing that a more frequent user is going to miss. More importantly, the cheap plastic scraper is much too flexible and you're going to start feeling a lot of strain in your hand if you are making a larger batch. If you frequently make spatzle, you would really want a nice solid heavy gauge scraper to force the batter through without straining your hand too much.

Good product
The item is very sturdy and I do like how well it fits my existing pot. I have made it with a few batters now (some with more egg, or milk instead of water). I had great luck with the first one I made, the second time was too firm, and the third worked ok. So if at first you don't succeed, try again! I do recommend that you use oven mitts as steam does come through the holes, the lid gets hot, and figuring out how to use it does take a moment... Not too long and next time it will be much easier. Dough needs to be firm, but not too firm. That really was what I feel was my biggest issue. I do like that it cleaned up easily, and is dishwasher safe. Edit: I had an issue with my original order, (Amazon fulfilment issue), they responded very quickly and shipped me a new one. Thankfully, this one was all intact! Received the item without the scraper and the item's package was opened. I purchased this for my uncle's birthday, and as I didn't have time to return it, receive a new one, and make the dumplings in time, I decided to use my personal spatula instead. (Now that I have the full product, I don't recommend using your own, the spatula that it comes with is much better than mine... I managed to snap one of mine in half.)

great for noodles and speatzle
Bought this for my husband who makes Chicken Paprikas and the speatzle/noodles by hand - this is now his favorite item and the noodles came out perfectly uniform and light using this.

This is a well made product that makes Spaetzle in a jiffy. It's easy and fun to make noodles, and the tool is easy to clean up and store. Only downside is it is too easy to make noodles, and I find myself eating them with everything. :-) Carb loading has its place, but not every meal. This is a no brainer for your kitchen. It will last longer than you will-especially if you use it as often as I do!

It's a bit difficult to use, and it looks like there is a spatula/scraper included, which there is not.

I like the quality of the product. It is very solid, very safe to use, it sits securely over one of my pots, the holes are a perfect size and it is dishwasher safe and takes very little space in my cupboard. I would recommend this product to my friends.

Making speatzle without this and then with this tool is not even remotely the same experience. What a game changer! Easy to use, right over the pot of water…producing beautiful delicious German dumplings. Easy to clean, use and store.
