This step stool was easy to assemble and feels safe and sturdy in use. It is very stable. It’s lightweight enough to be easy to move, and has a handy grip on top that helps as well. The wood is unfinished, and could be stained and varnished if you are handy that way. This stool is an excellent assist for a short girl like me.

I must say this is a very nice looking, sturdy step stool. It is rated at 220 pounds, so my butt won't be on it for a few more pounds. It will definitely support my wife and did so with no strain.We got the stool mainly for when grandkids are over for the day or evening so they can easily wash their hands in the bathroom sink. This will do nicely. We might stain it in a barnwood color as that is my wife's favorite.Now the inevitable... The build. Everything was there and in excellent condition. I looked through the instructions to see the order of the build. It looked easy enough, however would it have been so hard to at least get an "A" and "B" sticker for the sides. The only distinguishing factor is an extra hole on one side of each piece. I of course missed this detail and proceeded to attach the side piece on the wrong side. I did not discover this until I hit the next step which required that hole on the inside not the outside. I took it back apart.This leads me to my next point. The screws are very specific and could not be tightened with a drill. You are forced to use the inadequate wrench that in true IKEA fashion you have to put together as well. The screws are very tight when trying to screw them in. The wrench kept popping out of the head of the screws and my hand as well. This happened more than I care to admit. The only plus of taking them apart is the second time the screw went in with little effort. As you do not tighten them all the way, they are still very tight when fully tightened.When attaching the top, do not tighten either screw until you center it on the base. Even if you only tighten one, it will not allow the top to move to center it.I found it extra cute they have you apply their sticker with the weight limit and IKEA logo. Is that to make a point? LOLI would recommend this product, however if you have never put together an IKEA product, have patience with yourself. You were not alone.

My husband put this together in no time. It’s a classic wooden step stool and good quality wood was used. It’s large enough to be able to reach top shelf in your cabinets and even stuff stored a little higher and just out of reach, also great for hanging up pictures on a large wall. The wood color is nice as well, you could stain this as well if you want to go for a darker color to match your home if this is going to be store somewhere visible!

I'm not overly tall and have a difficult time reaching the upper shelves of my kitchen cabinets and closets. I ordered this step stool because it looked exactly like one a family member had from Ikea (and I use that one constantly when I'm at their house). I was pretty surprised when this ended up actually being the Ikea step stool.The things I like- it is very sturdy and well made and I plan on staining it to match my other wood. With it being real wood, I'm not expecting any issues getting it to the color I'd like.This can also double as a seat when needed, so in the rare occasion that I'm using all my chairs and need another seat, this will work well.It only took me about 15 minutes to put together. The screws do go in firmly, and takes a bit of strength especially when tightening them, whichever could be a struggle for some. I appreciated plastic piece included fpr the hex wrench, as it gave a better grip and made it easier to put in the screws.Downsides- it is a little bulky, but I also knew what I was getting myself into, so I can't take off for it- but depending on space, it could potentially be in the way for some.

I like this step stool okay, but it's not something I would pay $50 for because it was hard for me to put this together. I had to get help from my long-suffering neighbor because I couldn't get the screws tight enough to work right due to a hand injury, and I'm just not that strong.In our home, this stepstool is going to live in my bedroom closet so I'l have something to stand on back there - our home is long - and so I can safely put things on and take things off my closet shelves. My only other options were carrying a heavier step stool from the office to the bedrooms back there OR basically throwing things up on the closet shelves, ducking, and then seeing what happened. Not a good idea.This step stool measures 16"D x 15"W x 19"H, and it's really not tall enough for me to reach very high places, but it's great for reaching my closet shelves. It has nice wide steps, and it would be great for kids once they know it's not a toy, nor is it an instrument with which to whack a sibling upside the head.This is a very good step stool, but it was hard for me to put this together. The instructions were all pictures, no words, and I don't do well with that kind of instruction. Anyway, I got my neighbor to help me, and he got it all put together in about 20 minutes. It's 19" tall, so I couldn't use this to put things on top of the cabinets or anything like that, but it's fine for reaching my closet shelves, and it can live in the back bedroom so we'll always have a step stool handy when we need it.All in all, I believe that, if you're looking for a good step stool on the smaller or shorter size, you can probably spend less and get the same or better features on another step stool.

We ended up using this outside with a ropes course, a bit of deck stain makes it pretty resistant to the elements. Very solid and easy assembly, no worries about safety at all.
