Dream Yoga and the Practice of Natural Light

Stunning information
words fail to describe the profundity of the ancient wisdom of Tibet. A true master, like this author are quite few and far between. It requires a lifetime of complete dedication to meditation and dream work to accomplish the feats this author and other monks are capable of. To think that if you meditate 10 hours a day, you can start remembering 8 dreams every single night..... we tap into the source when we dream, our higher self. The problem is that most our minds are too distracted to remember them, let alone take control of them, predict the future, or even download information like mantras, scriptures, etc. This book is great education for anyone studying dream work, Buddhism, or the spiritual practices of Tibet

Transformation and Liberation through Dream
Tibetan yoga seeks clarity and continuity of consciousness in waking, sleeping, dreaming, imagination, memory and the thousands of sentient experiences that we call mind from our first to last breath and beyond. Mindfulness, meditation, biofeedback and dream yoga are only techniques to create skill on the path of our larger aim, to be able to enter deep sleep, unconsciousness or death in total and transcendental awareness. Jesus demonstrated the Resurrection Body of Glory, Padmasambhava, Buddha and Tara the Vajrakaya, and Sri Aurobindo the Divine Body. But the body is consciousness. Even Einstein said "There is no matter; it is all field." In that spirit, Norbu's book is a complete method for transformation and liberation; other readers only see random gibberish. Let your own lucid perceptions serve you. Yogic discipline will yield much treasure. Western complacency will unearth corrupt trash.

Worth it - you'll learn more about how to do what you want in dreams
Take what you can, leave what's not worthwhile. The good information here is worth the price. Not all will be relevant to many folks, though, as it has a religious connotation for many concepts in Eastern world. Still, good information you won't find many other places and nuggets of gold are worth panning through some dirt to find.

Dream Yoga
I didn't like this book as much as I thought I would because so much of it was just the personal dreams and personal experiences of the author. I guess I was hoping for a broader scope, more of the history of dream practice within this culture, what it means to them, how widespread, an anthropological study, I was hoping for that OR a how-to book. Because yes, I'm a curious yogi and this is an arm of yoga that interests me.What little how-to is included I used to my benefit. Very quickly I was having lucid dreams and vivid dreams. I can't say if this would happen for you - as I had been lucid dreaming since my teens, and also practicing meditation during my waking hours.

The Ultimate Dreamwork Manual
This book is a “must have” for anyone, from any spiritual tradition, psychological school of thought, and those who focus heavily on “dream work” as their spiritual path.

A Spiritual Genius
Master Chogyal Norbu is a Spiritual Genius. I've read over a dozen of his masterpieces including this one. It takes an Enlightened Being to present information that comes from mystical experiences as opposed to merely an informative intellectual bases. I've incorporated several practices with satisfactory results. I'm surprised by the negative comments but then water always finds its own level.

Lacks direct points/teaching..just a opion tho. Is a good book.
Not a bad book just i made the mistake in assuming there would be more teachings and less storys about personal experiences

A serious book for Dzogchen practitioners interested in dream yoga
Wonderful book, a must read for the serious Dzogchenpa. Thought if you’re not in the teachings I don’t know how far you will get with this book, the introduction by Michael Katz is very accessible for non Buddhists and non-Dzogchenpa.For those with an understanding of Dzogchen Rinpoche opens up a whole new who’d practice which will enrich your life and practice. As always his way of writing makes you feel very close to him as if he is inthe room with you, speaking to you directly as you read, so even if the core concept is difficult his simple and natural way of writing helps you get to grips with things. Also you will need to re-read his books many times because these are books to help you practice not academic or narrative reads, so you will find on second and subsequent reads the effect is like listening to a favourite story by a beloved parent or relative, it is familiar but you will always discover something new in the text to learn even if at first some things seem very simple. You have to work through this book slowly in tandem with developing your practice, there are certain practices you need to have perfected, well at least done a one week retreat to consolidate your base in order to not only follow Rinpoche’s instructions but to fully comprehend the text. Of course I would recommend that anyone seeks direct introduction with Rinpoche if you feel even the remotest bit interested as he is both and a wonderful teacher and one of the last living teachers who studied before the Chinese Cultural Revolution and invasion of Tibet, his teaching is direct, and friendly, it is like listening to a wise uncle telling you something very important and serious but with a smile, laughter and funny stories. This book should be read alongside the practice of Day and Night and you need to be familiar with the Dzogchen guru yoga and one or two other practices, I’m afraid there are no short-cuts, in order to do these practices effectively you must have received direct introduction from a Dzogchen master like Rinpoche Chogyal Namkhsi Norbu or it will make no sense and simply won’t work. This is not another option at the spiritual New Age pick’n’mix counter it’s part of a serious path of practice towards liberation which is deeply rewarding and enjoyable.

A must read !!
explicit and profound instructions on Dream Yoga. This book expand on the practice of using the Practice of the Night as a pathway to achieve enlightenment now in the lifetime and at the moment of death. This is the best book I have ever read on this subject and it has helped me navigate some dire misunderstandings that I had about my practice of the night. Thank you Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche.
