MK4 to MK3 LNB Legacy Adaptor (For Zone 2 Satellite Dishes)

Got this as a replacement for my Sky satellite dish. The original bracket got broken during some maintenance on the house. The bracket plastic was old and brittle and a slight knock damaged it. I didn't want to get a new dish and no longer had Sky as a provider. So after assessing this was the right part, I ordered up. Make sure you do get the right part though as there are a couple of satellite dish variations about.The broken part was an absolute pain to remove though from the metal bracket. A combination of snipping with wire cutters, drilling out and breaking the plastic away managed to free the broken part. No easy task when working at height - so be very careful DIYers! However, the new part fitted straight in without issue, pop the plastic pin in place and reinstate the receiver into the end. Use some cable ties to make the installation and coax cable all good and job done. All nice and simple in the end and a lot less to than a new dish. Just be careful wrestling with the old bracket though. May be easier to remove the dish first and not try to do the work in situ.

The arm part fit into my old dish perfectly. Unfortunately, the bracket is designed for the older 37mm LNBs that aren't sold anymore. Following SP's review, I found a small bottle that was 40mm in diameter and wrapped some sandpaper around it to sand the bottom bracket to size. Then used the top bracket from a new 40mm holder. The bolt for this holder and the new 40mm holders have a different thread, so you also have to re-drill the old bracket to fit the new bolt. A lot of work but worked out in the end. Label on the holder shows its a zinwell brand and made of ABS.

From previous reviews I knew it would not fit a 40mm dia. MK4 LNB without mods. However, encouraged by other’s successes I used a 40mm barrel sander to open up the bottom half of the adaptor, and used the top half of the MK4 LNB holder. Surprisingly, I was able to use the screw provided to put it together, clamping the MK4 LNB tightly. The whole modification took no more than 5 minutes.

No fault to the seller but this bracket is only 37mm wide neck so won’t take most of the new lnb. If you have an old type oval sky dish don’t waste time trying to work around just get a new dish installed wasted a week messing around, the new replacement lnb won’t fit the arm on the old dish they are to small.

Bought for use with Sky Q compatible LNB on my old portable satellite dish for use in touring caravan. Worked perfectly.

Bought when replacing a faulty LNB horn on a mk3 dish. This is a 38mm diameter bracket which fits the old Sky mk3 dish but will not fit third party LNB horns which are 40mm (eg Labgear). It's a shame nobody appears to make the mk3 bracket for 40mm diameter horn. I had to buy a new dish and return the bracket.

I purchased this as it was listed alongside a LNB which I required to replace my existing one. Having read the details of both the LNB and the adapter, and with the considering of the listing I thought that the two were compatible. I was incorrect! The LNB has a neck size of 40mm, whilst the adapter has an internal measurement of 37/38mm and therefore will not fit. It will be returned.

Bought this as a replacement for our sky dish as the other clamp had been damaged by workmen! Good price , easy to fit , would recommend.
