Strap on and go!
I'm a Personal Trainer, so reliability is important to me. I’m glad to say this doesn’t disappoint. This monitor is compatible with a variety of apps, but I decided to start with their own app, which is available on both Android and iOS.I adjusted the soft chest strap, then snapped the monitor to the strap, and quickly ran a small amount of water from the tap along the back, to make it conduct better. Then I unsnapped it and put it around my chest. After putting in my weight, age and gender into the app, I then clicked “Discover HRMs” and detected the monitor within a few seconds. That was much faster than the previous BeetsBLU Heart Rate Monitor. It also displays the battery life, which is another new feature. This newer version has ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart support — that’s a wireless technology that allows devices from different brands to talk to each other. The monitor is compatible with many fitness apps (see the beetsBLU website for details). Their own app is fairly basic, so I tried it with Under Armour’s “Map My Fitness” app, and found it was easy to pair in the Settings menu. The Pros:• Comfortable chest strap• Reliable signal with no drop off• Good range of compatible apps• Can check battery levelGeorge[...]Disclosure: As a Fitness Blogger at Busy Parent Fitness, I’m often sent products to review, and I was gifted this item. Comfortable, reliable and easy to wash
This heart rate monitor is really easy to use. It pairs really simply with the fitness apps on my iPhone, and pairs easily with the treadmill, crosstrainer and bike at the gym. I found it very easy to fit, and very comfortable to wear. The band itself is separate from the monitor, and the band can be washed easily (and it dries very quickly). The monitor clips onto the band which I thought I would find annoying, but I didn't notice it at all. I found that the monitor fitted snugly and comfortably, and didn't shift around when I was running. The monitor seems to be very reliable as well - I did a bit of testing it with the heart rate monitor paired with my phone and with the machines - and my heart rate was monitored steadily. It didn't fluctuate or jump wildly like it does with some monitors, or with the hand sensors at the gym.I was asked to review this item on my blog and for this review. All opinions are my own.

Great addition to exercise
This is a great device for recording your heart rate. It was easy to assemble. It came in a small box which fit through my letter box. It connected to my bluetooth without much trouble. The customer support is great; they kindly sent me a list of apps on my Windows phone that are compatible with the Beets device. These are: - CycloMeter - Caledos Heart- Neo Cardiograph- Track Runner- Endomondo- Runtastic PRO- miCoach (adidas)- Caledos RunnerI was a bit disappointed that some apps I had to pay for. I would prefer a free app but I guess it is personal preference.I am a 32" chest size and this fit me perfectly. I was a bit worried as normally unisex items are too large but this was fine. The only problem I had was that my sports bra is where the device needs to go, so I could only wear certain bras with it. The device itself is very light to wear and has a secure clip. I wet my sensors slightly to make sure it works and check the app too to before I go out for a run so I know the data is being picked up and recorded. Great addition to my fitbit as that doesn't have a heart rate monitor and the version with the HRM is a bit clunky for my liking for everyday use.

Hardware rocks, software sucks.
After a shaky start this has turned out to be great. Hilariously, the shaky start was because I made the kindergarten mistake of thinking that the best way to prove it worked was to try connecting it to the genuine Beets Blu app. That is, the app which turned out to be completely unable to connect to, or even see, the heart monitor. Every single other app I tried has worked perfectly, including Strava. So, 10 out of 10 for the hardware, works great and has been really useful with Strava, but 0 out of 10 is possibly too generous for the app, because all it can do is make buyers think the hardware is faulty and send it back, leaving them oblivious to just how high their heart rate has been pushed by fighting with the most dismal software known to mankind.

Finally I can properly track my heart rate while exercising! No more false readings
I already have a step counter on my wrist which should also read my heart rate. Sadly it is always wrong: apparently my resting HR is 43bpm. When exercising it goes all over the place. This is probably due to the fact that sitting on my wrist it moves a lot and it is not reliable at all.I have now the Beets BLU Cardio HR monitor which fits both on my chest and my abdomen snuggly and gives much, much better readings. The technology on which it relies is different: instead of using the green pulsating light as my wristband it has ECG-based technology. Needless to say the readings are realistic and stable. I also checked by counting bpm over a minute and they were in line with the BEETS BLU HR monitor readings.Pairing with my favourite app is painless. I use Runkeeper and together they worked as a charm since the first minute (in the past I used runtastic but stopped because of the many limitation without a pro version). The size is very reasonable, the strap can be adjusted to fit without being too tight or too lose. It stays on where you want it even after 1 hour run. As you can see from the image is pretty much the same size as a earphone and it lies flat against my sternum or abs. After 30 seconds running or walking I forget about it and focus on my training.

Great Buy
This was easy to set up and comfy to wear. My husband finds it more comfy to wear than be fitting around my chest but it is not unbearable for short bursts. It gives information in a clear informative fashion and my husband has found it useful for tracking his heart rate on bike rides and gym sessions - after an earlier scare about his blood pressure he has found this tool a useful at home product to help keep things in track. Its nice and small and does not take up too much space. Able to make it fit snug. and give
