Anyone that owns a tortoise knows that those expensive smaller bottles on the pet store shelf are gone in no time. I haven't had the stomach to taste it, but I'll give you a 5⭐ on that level watching all the critters munch happily away on their mash. This pellet looked and smelled the same as the higher priced one we had been previously using and it makes a mash that the tortoises all love! We run a rescue an hour away from most pet stores, grassland tortoise food, small pellet tortoise food and aquatic turtle food are among our larger expenses since, while cheaper, giving the Sulcadas too much produce, especially with a higher sugar content causes pyramiding in the shell and shortens the life span of the animal. We make sure everyone gets the proper diet. My tortoise eats this with no issues. Didn’t live that it came packaged in an old ziplock bag, but product seemed fresh.

All my tortoise LOVE these pellets! I am feeding them to Sulcata, Desert and Russian.. They ALL are loving this food! If you've never used it before, don't rush the soaking process and they soak up WAY more water than you think. Have to squeeze them a bit to make sure the center is all softened too, then the tortoise really go to town on them!

My sulcata really seems to like it. I bring him in the winter months and just use it as a supplement. I have to agree it’s different to see the product come in a regular ziplock bag and no instructions. Regardless it works!

Not sure how to rate, but after several tries my desert tortoise never touched this stuff. I straight from the package, soaked in water and soaked in water then let it dry so it was less dense. The turtle would poke its nose in it, then move one.
