Q: Can this be used on a chain link fence?

Very easily. Just get better zip ties. The zip ties that come with it are weak and cheap. Line up the Ivy along the chain link fence and zip tie it on. I have the wire garden fencing and that is how I did it by myself.

Q: how can this be attached if there are no slats? I am trying to cover a screen for privacy.

I attached it to a chain link fence with black zip ties. Looks great!

Q: If the fence I shorter than the height, will unsupported portion slump down?

You have the options of :1. Cutting off the excess or 2. Fold it underneath the desired pattern. You can use a razor blade to cut holes to accommodate the ties you'll attach to the fence

Q: Has anyone noticed sound dampening at all? For example to quiet highway noise?

Doesn’t work for sound dampening. More for decoration on chain link fences. Good product otherwise.
