Works very well and is easy to use
When I got it and saw it was just a plain tool with pressing plates welded on the tips, I thought it was going to be crap. But it wasnt! Works excellently, the instructions are not the most detailed, but they give you enough to figure it out, mostly because once you figure out what plates go with which snaps, its easy as can be. We had to lubricate the adjusting screw so it would turn easier, but other than that it came ready to go. *TIP* Make sure to adjust it so that it locks when you squeeze it closed- thats the best way to get a snug and securely attached snap.

Excellent tool for snaps
Much better than the hammer and punch method for creating holes and even better for installing the snaps without damaging the snaps or not crimping them sufficiently. Takes a little practice but easily mastered with only a few tries. Used different snaps to try out. Works well with every one tried.

Sloppy construction, meh quality, but does the job anyway.
This looks like it was made by a high school welding class as an intro project. The quality of the welding is pretty agricultural. And the vice grips they start with are pretty cheap. The adjusting screw was nearly frozen in place when I got it, but eased up with lubrication. The first pair I received were missing the snap adapters which took a bit to figure out because there aren't any instructions. But the vendor was quick to provide a replacement so all was well on that front.But given all that, these do what they need to do. I don't expect them to last forever, but they aren't that expensive and I don't see a lot of great alternatives out there.

This makes things easy for you! You don’t have to use a hammer or those special little tools to put on snaps.

works great on canvas
I used this to replace a few missing snaps on my boat canvas! Worked awesome. I went around to all the other snaps and tightened them up! Worked great. Best tool for this job verses a hammer and bunch type i have used in the past. Canvas can stay on the boat while i do it!
