NEEWER 15X Magnification Lens 7-10cm Focal Distance for Macro Photography Close Up, Compatible with GoPro Hero 13 12 11 10 9 Action Camera, Not Waterproof, LS-31

This lens deserves recognition. I film for my YouTube channel and find the standard GoPro Hero10 focal distance appalling. When filming close-up technical photos and videos, I have to hold the cam 13-inches or further from the subject to get a sharp image, then lose significant resolution in cropping. This 15X Neewer lens allows close-up, full-frame sharpness. The focal distance (2.75" to 4") is narrow, and depth of field is shallow, which can be awkward for some shoots. However, until GoPro makes a Macro Lens Mod lens for cams earlier than the Hero13, this Neewer lens is the solution.

If you are someone who prefers to use a Go{ro camera for close ups instead of your phone this works well. We have started to use it in order to make close up on some videos and it works as expected. Only a few minor changes to the settings. The item has to be aprox 3" - 8" inches away from the lens in order to capture it well.Also be patience when changing your lens for the first couple of times since it will be a bit hard.

I was hoping to get a closer focal length but it was a very narrow depth of field. At close range the edges were not in focus. Not sure what the were focusing on, it may simply be beyond the scope of camera.

Good but not amazing.I’m using with a Hero 12 Black. The field view for this lens is a very clear circle in the middle, with some pretty severe blurring on all sides. The field of acceptable focus is quite narrow (it takes some practice to get the right distance. And even in the very middle at exactly the right distance, it’s not as tack-sharp as the onboard GoPro lens.I haven’t tried using it for video, just still photographs. I imagine video show with this lens would be hard to watch because of the narrow field of focus and blur vignetting.

I wanted to use this in a waterproof case, but, the curvature of the lens means it cannot fit in the waterproof case! And if you do get it in, the case will leak. Ask me how I know... I wanted to give this a 3 star rating for that reason, but, in fact, that is not a defect of the product... it comes is a nice box, includes a plastic storage case, a cleaning towelette. Its a great quality build and it works as advertised.

The media could not be loaded. Followed instructions. Fits GoPro10 - however no video was in focus - none. I tried 32 different videos with checking settings on each on. checking troubleshooting from the lens. nothing worked. Would not recommend.

Very much liked the ability to have some magnification. The first line of advertisement is a bit misleading; it is 1.5X magnification, not 15X. Would very much like to see options for higher magnification lenses for GoPro.
