Got a few of these now but this is the newest version to me, they are simple enough to install once you get your head around the App. there are loads of settings to play with on the detection side so you can zone out problem areas. IE we have a flag mounted on front of garage and had to zone out the Flag and it's shadow or the camera was almost recording constantly onto SD card.You have to have a good WI-Fi signal though and even with this they can lose the signal now and again, But they still record onto SD card if you have one installed.Great been able to check the homestead even when 1,000's of miles away.

I have 2 other Tapo cameras which are battery and WiFi so that’s the reason I purchased this one This is a very good camera for the area it covers with good functionality and very easy to install. I have an SD card and the record works well

Lost a star due to set up problems with wifi. But there's a workaround. Customer Care at TP Link were useless and insisted I returned the cameras to them, even though they were bought from Amazon. None of the 3 cameras found my wifi signal, even when directly next to the router. Had no problem with the Tapo solar powered camera I also bought. But the workaround is to connect to the router via an ethernet cable for the 2 minute set up process only, disconnect the ethernet cable and then wifi is listed as an available network. Why TP Link don't know this is crazy! But that's the quick fix.

I use Tapo cameras all around my property and find them easy to install and operate, and have them connected to my home broadband, so find that especially useful when away on holiday. I can check all of them through an internet connection even when I’m abroad. This particular camera is extremely functional with virtually no Lag when panning and tilt, the swivel response is also really quick. I’ve fitted an Amazon basic 64gb mini storage card to all mine which I find is plenty although you can increase the storage capacity even more if you need too… I got mine on a deal so was good value. After owning 6 Tapo cameras I find them easy to install and find connection to both my phone and iPad a doddle. However I appreciate when it’s new it may take a little working out, but just follow the instructions and you will be fine.

Camera has better connectivity then old version which was good anyway.

After I installed this camera I was pleasantly surprised when it showed up in Smartthings as a motion sensorI've been trying for years to get a Smartthings compatible camera because Smartthings Geofencing for routines just works, unlike Arlo that hasn't worked since 2019 on my old ArloQ's, now binnedSo when I leave home and arrive back the camera motion detection is automatically turned on and off ... perfectYes, Tapo do separate motion sensors but they are permanently active draining the battery and all you can do is turn on or off notifications
