Great unit - have two of them
Got two of these radios - they work well and have not let me down.Positives:- good battery runtime- good screen- intuitive interface- FM radio- good size/weight- good price- good support- good warranty- plenty of accessoriesNegative:- OEM antenna is bad (Essentially just a resistor), recommend replacing- belt clip is OK, but it's difficult to use on the vest's shoulder strap. A different mounting (swivel?) option would be betterOverall, i recommend it as a good, inexpensive, basic radio with some good features.

Great VHF handheld

Well worth the price.
Just got this and played with it last night. Not far from a major river and about 15 miles from the coast. Picked up river traffic and Coast Guard easily along with a little ocean traffic. Instructions not bad but also used to cb. Also I can use the weather and FM channels during a hurricane.

Simple reliable and it works
I have a few of these and they are always ready to work. They keep their charge for a loong time and have all the tech features that I can use and more. Also had. Weather and FM radio bands. Great value for the price.

Better than before
I had an old version of this that I lost in a turnover boating accident. This one is better in every way, including being self buoyant. My old one needed a jacket to float which made it bulky. I put it in the side pocket of my kayak for comfort. It got tossed when the kayak rolled. Oops, can’t get the radio due to my stupidity. This one not only performs at least as well on the radio side, but since it is self buoyant I can easily fit it in the pocket of my PFD and not lose it when I need it most. And, the price has come down. Awesome!Money well spent as insurance when you need it.
