Hidden costs
Replacing a Bamix from the 1970s, so high hopes. First disappointment was a £54.00 additional charge when the Bamix reached UK customs - it would have been much cheaper to go to one of the kitchen ware retailers, had I known that this was going to be the case. It arrived swiftly, and looks great, but the supplied UK plug, pictured, simply doesn’t fit a UK socket - the two pins are not far enough apart to fit. Finally, I’m not entirely sure it’s new - strangely greasy fingerprints and marks on the metal parts. I’m not going to pay another export charge to return it, however, so have ordered another plug. Buyer beware of getting a Bamix via Amazon.
