e-Plumb VOR790 Vortex Air Cistern, White

This is a good value well made product, it was easy to fit and has no leaks unlike another make I fitted and have scraped which leaked from the start. It comes fully assembled and the instructions are reasonably clear only the water and flush pipe to connect after mounting.

The old cistern had started to leak from flush pipe. On removing panel I found that, due to bodged installation of a Geberit cistern when the bathroom was built 10 years ago, there had been a slow leak within the concealed area for some time but the leak had worsened over Christmas when water was seen leaking out from under the panel. As i do have of experience with DIY plumbing I decided would be easier to fix it myself rather than try and find a plumber working during the holidays. A good decision the unit went in without any drama and I probably saved myself a big bill from an emergency plumber.This cistern looks to be a good quality build and is working perfectly.A point to watch when fitting. The flush pipe is a bigger diameter at the cistern end than at the outflow end. Make sure that you have identified which end is which before you start cutting it to fit your installation. I nearly overlooked this.One minor complaint with the kit is that on mine the chrome plastic bezel that surrounds the push buttons is not a tight fit on the push button assembly. It dislodges to easily when you operate the buttons. A few dots of sealant behind the bezel is needed to stabilise it. For this reason only 4 stars rather than 5.

We have a very small room, a pantry really, that is next to the cupboard under the stairs and this cistern is ideal for us as we can have the toilet in one room and the cistern in the other to save space. It works well and our plumber didn't have any problems fitting it. We will box it in so that it won't get knocked by the vac etc as we will still use this cupboard for storage.

Pneumatic push button, insulation jacket, pre assembled, easy fit if you've done one before. This genuinely is a top quality one, recommended.
