Fantastic trap!
Great product, easy to set up, caught 3 mice so far! After reading about best baits we used Snickers pieces! Tried peanut butter first but that didn't work so we added the Snickers. Caught one in each trap the first night and one more the next night. Highly recommend . No kill, just took them to the woods and released them. You won't be disappointed if you use the right bait and it secures the mouse until you are ready to release it. Will continue to use these to avoid more issues in the future. Mice caused a lot of damage under the hood of my Toyota Rav 4. Traps are very well made and will hold up for years. A great purchase!!

Effective but maybe not for rats
Decent traps. Easy to set up. I got it to cat h rats, but they were too smart. I did manage to catch a couple of squirrels and birds. It was easy to safely release the animals without harming them.

Works great!
Good quality and easy to use. Comes assembled and ready. I got the black painted version and they are clean and feel like they will last. I caught 7 rats in 3 days with these. Work well!

Excellent.
These are the best, easiest and most consistently successful mousetraps. We have mice getting into our house somehow despite our best efforts to foam seal all gaps etc, so need some way to catch the little devils. I hate killing them but they can’t be in my house, and unfortunately mice can’t read a “keep out” sign. Snap traps are humane but unfortunately we also have curious cats and dogs so can’t use regular snap traps as they may injured said pets, not to mention us or an unaware guest from accidentally disturbing the trap and snapping a toe or finger ;). Sticky traps are horrifically cruel and essentially slowly starve and suffocate the animal so are not an option. Same for the water bucket type where the mouse slowly drowns. These live traps are wonderful. They are safe to others, reliably catch the mouse, and allow us to then relocate him elsewhere far enough that he can’t find his way back. Maybe they don’t survive then either but at least they get a fair chance. It’s not really their fault they were looking for a warm shelter in my house. We use sunflower seeds for bait, piled on the plate behind the trigger. You do need to check the trap daily otherwise just as cruel as the other methods, and potentially educates other mice to avoid it if they have the opportunity to see the mouse trapped. They are not brainiacs but they are not stupid.

Good quality, simple and intuitive operation, effective small animal trap
I have a few HavAHart brand small animal traps, which work well but have very sensitive triggers that can make setting up a challenge. I decided to try this other brand and model, and am pleasantly surprised. The mechanism is much less fussy than the HavAHart design, and yet it seems to trigger reliably and the mechanism that locks the animal in is effective. It also has a feature that allows it to be baited and set, them moved to the desired location without fear of false triggering en route, followed by simply moving one end of the trigger wire from its 'safe' position to the 'ready' position. It is possible for the user to leave the 'lock' wire in a position too far forward that might prevent it from working as designed. To alleviate this, I hold the end of the trigger wire and gently move it to an 'almost triggered' position to visualize the beginning of the triggering sequence; if the 'lock' wire starts to move rearwards correctly, then I proceed to move the trigger wire to its 'ready' position with confidence that all will work well (otherwise, if the 'lock wire' moves forwards, I know to move it a bit rearwards and try my test again). I don't do live capture/release, as it is prohibited in my suburban community, and allowable release areas are too far away. I keep a typical 5 gallon plastic paint bucket full of water in the garden shed, and this trap drops down inside the bucket just enough to leave no air gap. 30 seconds later the deceased critter can be dumped out of the trap into a Quart sized zip-lock storage bag for disposal in the trash. My only complaint is that the bait tray is quite a long reach from the door end of the trap, so reaching it is a minor chore. I always wear disposable (nitrile) rubber gloves when handling the trap for cleaning, baiting, setting, transporting, and 'execution' and dumping. This prevents touching the critter or its possible fluids, and also avoids leaving my scent on the trap. Before each re-use, I reach into the trap with gloved hand, holding a folded half-sheet or paper towel and wipe the bait tray until visibly clean. I re-bait with peanut butter on the end of a wooden Popsicle stick. I have two of these traps, and keep them pretty busy reducing the vermin population near my house to a tolerable level.

This is a great easy to use trap
These actually work pretty well not easily triggered once set. You fo have to place the food in yhe way back or a tiny piece of food in the tray I made the mistake of lutting a big piece on the tray and the critters was able to get it out and not get caught..so far have caught ine giant rat and another smaller one. Over all I really like this trap. I hate killing things so this is the way I choose to capture them ill take them to the wildlife center the creek or a forest area. Great buy im glad I got them

good trap
Worked really well for chipmunks! I used peanut butter for bait and they couldn't resist. I taped a small bright flag to the handle on the front so when the trap goes off you can see from farther away that you got something!
