This worked the first time! Pretty easy to install. Instructions not as clear but workable.I am impressed how well it worked for hundreds cheaper.

Unreliable
Installed and set it up, without any problems. Tested it multiple times, without any problems.Fast forward 4 months... We had a water leak in the house. A small crack on our refrigerator line.We were not home at the time. But fortunately I have water leak detectors in areas of the house, like the refrigerator, toilets, washing machine, dishwasher...But! When I tried to shut off the water remotely. The device was offline, and completely useless in an emergency! I had to call my neighbor to go over and shut off my water.Once I got home to take a look at it. I was finally able to get it back online after unplugging it, re-plugging it and reconnecting it a few times. But it still won't do anything. While the app said it did open and close the valve. I stood there and watched to do absolutely nothing. So I guess it's a blessing that it was offline. Otherwise I would assumed the valve was off, meanwhile who knows how much damage would have been done to my house, if the water would continue to run.So obviously it's past the return date. In the garbage it goes.

A Review of the Automatic Water Shut-Off Valve
This automatic water shut-off valve boasts sturdy construction and is crafted from durable materials. Not only does it serve its functional purpose, but it also pleases the eye with its aesthetic appeal. Installation is a breeze, aligning perfectly with the provided instructions. Every component in the package lives up to the supplier’s description.I acquired this valve to safeguard my home’s main water supply. With a water feed diameter of 1.5 inches, it fit snugly over my existing valve. However, here’s where the tale takes a twist: despite its promise, the automatic shut-off valve failed to cooperate with my stubborn old valve. The culprit? My existing valve’s resistance—perhaps a result of age or a calcium buildup within its inner workings. In fairness to the product, I suspect it would have performed flawlessly had my valve been new and easy to manipulate by hand. So, dear potential buyers, heed this advice: ensure your existing valve closes effortlessly before investing in this auto shut-off device. Its torque may fall short for some valves. On the bright side, this valve shines when dealing with smaller water pipes and gas lines. And the standout feature? The ability to remotely shut off your water supply during emergencies. A true lifesaver!Remember, it’s always essential to consider the compatibility of such devices with your existing setup. Happy plumbing!

Alignment, Alignment, Alignment...
This worked Just fine for me. I think people are having issues dont have good wifi coverage in their home, and also its very import to have the alignment right. The pivit point of the opener has to be directly above the pivot point of your valve. Very Very important! if its not it wont have the strength to open your valve becaues its in a bind.

Good universal valve actuator
I needed it for a vacation home, so that I can shut the water off remotely if there is a leak or during freezing weather.Because of its location I actually had to run it off a small solar panel and battery, which works just fine. It was easy to install, as long as you have a lever-type ball valve that you can install it on. I had limited clearance to the valve, as it was butted up against the backflow preventer on my water meter, so it took some modifications to get it to fit correctly. It draws very little power to maintain network connectivity, though it does have limited reception range. (In my case, the location has a lot to do with it, too) It sets up over Bluetooth, and works with the SmartLife app, which I already use for other IFTTT applications, and allows me to use other sensors such as leak and freeze sensors, to create scripts to operate the valve.I haven't run this through a bunch of cycles to see if it would last, but that's not the application I need it for. All and all, great item for the price.

Works great on main water valve! Very durable...Read review.
The media could not be loaded. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. This thing works great! I have a water leak that we can not locate. I believe it's underground beneath my house, but we can find no wet areas. My water bill has doubled the past three months. The main water shut off valve is in my cellar, so I installed this device on it so that I can control the valve from inside my house. It has never failed to work perfectly. It has plenty of power to turn the valve handle and I believe it will last. Make sure to tighten the mounting bracket snugly to the unit before tightening the screw on the back side of the pipe. This bracket is designed to add strength to the unit when installed properly. *The small click you hear in the video is the back end of the valve handle slightly catching on the bracket. I need to adjust the bracket back slightly. Easy fix. It took about 5 minutes to install.Update: I still haven't had a chance to find my (slow) water leak due to weather and my waterline is buried about two feet deep under my house. I'm having to dig a ditch to even craw under the house. So I have Alexa turn the water valve on and off multiple times each day. I'm sure this device has operated over 1000 cycles by now. I'm very impressed with its durability. Most people would never use it this much in their lifetime. I'm thinking about buying a back up in case it does fail from excessive usage.

works ok, make sure you install the free app!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:works ok, took a little while to install in my crawl space. note the one app Smart Living is not free and wants $40 year!.the other app is ok but while it was turning on and off, it wasn’t showing the open/close status.
