FOOD FOR THOUGHT and the rhythm is gonna get ya !
I remember 1980, being 14 and getting the double A side 7" single before anyone else in the class.UB40, they were like nothing else, homegrown and original. Different to Marley or Third World. My record player was on repeat, over and over and over, remember those days ?Now, 36 years later, i'm doing it again. FOOD FOR THOUGHT on repeat. FANTASTIC.Let me tell you, this 50 year old geezer hasn't danced around the living room so much for years !You need BIG speakers, not the pathetic things sold now, you need some bass, and good treble for the guitar. get a proper amp.Get it and turn it up, LOUDFOOD FOR THOUGHT is track 11. Worth the cd price alone..I guarantee you will want to move you dancing feet. Even if you can only slide on the wall with a rum and coke !As for the UB politics, sad but true. Accept it and move on.Sure not all tracks are classics, but don't all albums have some puff ?Another 36 years and i'll be 86, FOOD FOR THOUGHT indeed.Signing off.

Love it!
Wow, I wasn't expecting much from this CD, so was really happy when I played it, and listened to it twice right away. Who knew you could have yet another great version of such iconic songs? Kingston Town and Many Rivers are 2 of my all-time favourites, whoever sings them - I would have been gutted if they'd been messed up. But Ali's voice sounds good. Even Red Red Wine, the worst UB40 song ever, sounds ok unplugged! There are a couple of duds: Food for Thought sounds a bit off key, and Rat in the Kitchen is as boring as ever. But overall a great addition to my very extensive UB40 collection. Except that I have NO CD's by the other lot - not UB40!
