Tish: (Mary Roberts Rinehart Classics Collection) Review: Wonderful listening 🔰😀 - Five very will written romantic thriller adventure short stories novella relationships by Marry Roberts Rinehart with lots of interesting will developed characters. The story lines are entertaining all starting in New York City before WW1 where three women have adventures. I would recommend this novella to readers looking to be entertaining by a different time. Enjoy the adventure of reading or listening to books 📚2021 Review: Three-quarters silly, but great fun - I suggest that you read them over a week or two rather than all at once even though they are not long. They are great light reading, even fun, but the silliness factor can be a bit much in a concentrated dose!

Wonderful old stories from the pre-World War I era
I have loved the Tish stories since I was a kid and this collection even included a couple I hadn't managed to find before. So glad they are available now on kindle but I know there are more Tish stories than are collected here--what happened to the story where she and the old girls and Charlie Sands go to France in the midst of WWI??? These are laugh out loud stories with some real lessons for the modern audience--such as, that there WAS life before cell phones and the rest of modern trappings and that with enough determination--and money--women could have lives of their own even before the age of the flapper and suffrage. These stories may be historical artifacts, in at least one way--after all, they were written nearly a hundred years ago! but they also live. For those who like the tales of Patrick McManus, you really don't want to miss Tish.

Interesting
An interesting and fun read. The old fashioned setting and dialogue are entertaining. Not a bad way to pass an afternoon.

Entertaining period piece
Good writing can span the ages. I imagine that at the time this was written MRR was taking a huge risk by giving her female characters so much independence and the freedom to get into the predicaments they found themselves in. I found them very entertaining. My prior experiences reading MRR were primarily darker mysteries. In fact, I found Tish so entertaining that I immediately read the sequel, More Tish.

Fun and Humorous
Thoroughly enjoyable! Tish a little too self-centered at the detriment to her friends, but they don't hold it against her. They seem to thrive on the many adventures she get them involved in. Want to read more about their exploits.

A Must Read.
Tish is a very progressive woman, who doesn't let the fact that women don't have the vote yet keep her down. She is headstrong and will do exactly what she wants, taking her 2 friends with her. This is an absolutely delightful book about 3 middle aged ladies in the early 20th century. The things they get up to and accomplish are truly amazing and always come out right in the end.

A favorite author rediscovered
"Tish" is a story of three liberated ladies "of a certain age" who find themselves in a series of unlikely adventures. The tales of these adventures are laugh-out-loud funny, while providing an interesting insight into the how people carried on their lives in the early 1900s. These ladies were way ahead of their time! My grandmother had the complete works of Mary Roberts Reinhart, most of which I read during summer visits in my teens. Memories of this favorite author prompted me to try "Tish," one of the few I knew I hadn't read, when I found the book on Amazon. I wasn't disappointed! Even 50 years later, this author is superb.

Tho' written nearly 100 years ago in a completely different era, I still chuckle every time I reread them!!
