VTech Art Kidi Secrets Doodle Pad

A really cool product for kids that allows them secret codes to open, invisible ink, a diary-type feel to it, so the owner can keep their secrets safe from sibling prying eyes. Made by reliable VTech, I'd recommend it.

This was a very cool toy to give that was used by a six and a half year old girl. She was absolutely enamoured immediately, from the cover doodles alone. Once she discovered the keypad lock and the ability to close off her diary from her older sister, there was no going back! It includes a small sketchpad and a special marker that writes in invisible ink, which you can then see when using the built-in light that folds out. It also lets kids play a few games, either on their own or with someone else. It's a really unique toy concept that I actually haven't seen any other company make. The only downside is it would have been nice to have a bigger spiral sketchpad included, but it can easily be replaced with another similarly-sized notebook. All in all, it was a hit and I wouldn't hesitate to pick up more if I was looking for unique gifts for that age group.

My daughter loves this! I was worried she would be too old at age ten, but who is too old for an invisible pen/code locking journal? This is would have been a dream to have as a kid. It functions perfect and the code out of the box to set passcode is 0000. There are some activities my daughter doesn't use much, probably due to age but the journal itself is perfect, especially to engage struggling readers or writers.Inside is a very small space and a tiny notebook with some prompted pages. There is an invisible marker pen and fold out blacklight that lights up the ink on the pages. The light stays attached inside the tablet. With my daughter having Autism, this is a great item to get her interested in writing short words and remembering a short string of numbers. It's also a cute storage box for tiny items or folded pieces of paper. The gender-neutral kid friendly design makes this perfect for boys or girls. I highly highly recommend this as a gift or fun way to engage writing. This is a great starter/locking journal!

The Vtech art kidi secret doodle pad is a great choice for a child who enjoys writing and expressing themselves. The locked notebook adds some fun to the experience. The washable marker comes off super easily, clears errors or to rewrite the fun over and over again. The lock pad is very easy to set up, my 8 year old did it herself. I do feel like it looses interest after a while, but it is a fun initiative to practice writing and it makes for a good gift idea - it is unique. The price point on sale $31,99, is decent for a reusable notebook let alone for the brand VTech. I would say that this toy is really limited for beginner writers - possibly age 5 to the oldest ages 8.
